To taste the very best in West Country produce, don't miss the ten-day Exmoor Food Festival at the beginning of October when you can explore food fairs and farmers' markets, take part in cookery courses or themed evenings, and enjoy lots of other tempting foodie events.

From Saturday 2 to Sunday 10 October, a packed programme of around 50 events will take place in destinations across Exmoor, including Lynton and Lynmouth in North Devon, and across the Minehead, Dunster and Porlock region in West Somerset.		   Group Accommodation 2-10 October 2010 Exmoor Food Festival
 
   
  The festival showcases the very best of Exmoor's local produce, with a wide variety of independent food and drink producers offering visitors the chance to try or buy their products. Some events take place daily throughout the festival, while others are one-offs happening on specific days, so check the festival website before you book your Exmoor holiday accommodation to make sure you're there for the events you don't want to miss.

Local pubs and restaurants will be joining in, offering delicious Exmoor Breakfasts and food festival menus over the ten days. And since some of the food festival's dates coincide with the North Devon & Exmoor Walking Festival (1 – 4 October), the two have joined forces to organise several food-themed walks – so you can also enjoy Exmoor's beautiful moorland and scenic coastline as well as its local produce!

Other special events include a Celebration of the Apple day and planting an edible hedge, both around Porlock; pumpkin carving sessions in Minehead ready for Halloween at the end of the month; chocolate making demonstrations in medieval Dunster; and a tour of the Victorian kitchens at Dunster Castle and mountain bike rides to help fit foodies work off the calories.

Events the first weekend will take place mainly around Lynton and Lynmouth on the North Devon side of Exmoor, while on the second weekend plenty will be happening around the Minehead, Dunster and Porlock region in West Somerset.
