Find the Best Value and Most Convenient Method of Transport to your Accommodation

Arranging transport for your group stay requires a good deal of organisation. In some cases, groups will travel together, but often people will be coming from different locations and so need to organise their own transport.

Ensure every group member has the relevant information they need to book their transport. All you have to do is let them know of the dates and times and use our share tool to point them to the property details on our site. Here they will find the address, driving directions, nearest bus stop and nearest train station.

Explore your group travel options and get tips on how to get great value travel by each method.

By Car

Many people find driving the easiest way to get to their property rental and it has the added bonus of giving you freedom to get out and about whilst there.

Money Saving Tips

Find the Cheapest Petrol Prices
PetrolPrices allows you to find the cheapest petrol prices in your area. Even better, KeepMoving allows you to find the cheapest petrol prices en-route. Simply enter the road name where you are planning on stopping to see a comparison of all petrol stations.

  Avoid the Service Station Rip-Off
Service stations have been found to charge up to double that of supermarkets for food. KeepMoving has a great feature that allows you to find supermarkets en-route to your destination so you can more effectively plan when to stop and refuel with some fairly priced food and drink.

Car Hire

If you aren’t planning on taking your own car then hiring a car can be a great way to get to your property and gives you added flexibility whilst you’re there.

Comparison sites are the easiest way to find the best deals on car hire. Below you will find what we believe to be the top car hire comparison sites. They all cover a huge amount of companies with pick up locations in thousands of places across the world.

• CarRentals
• Opodo

Typical Costs

As a rough guide car hire will cost from £15 - £40 a day depending on a number of different factors. For a much more accurate estimate simply get an instant online quote.

By Minibus

Minibuses are a popular and cost effective way of transporting up to 17 people. They allow everyone to stay together, limit the amount of drivers needed and make parking a lot easier.

There are certain conditions on who can drive a minibus and detailed information can be found on the directgov website. As a general rule, if you are aged between 21 and 70 and have held a full car licence for at least 2 years you shouldn't have a problem.

  Minibus Hire

Sixt offer an excellent online service which allows you to get instant quotes for a range of different sized minibuses with pick up points throughout the UK. Alternatively ask your group accommodation owner for local minibus companies.

Typical Costs

As a rough guide minibus hire will cost from £80 - £120 a day depending on a number of different factors. For a much more accurate estimate simply get an instant online quote.

By Train

A comfortable way of travelling and very easy to arrange as a group. All our properties show the nearest train station so simply check online to get an estimate of fares and journey times from your nearest station.

You can quickly check times and fares at nationalrail but cannot book tickets directly from them. In the UK, train tickets can be purchased online at sites such as thetrainline, raileasy and from each of the train companies themselves.

Money Saving Tips

1. Book in Advance
Booking in advance saves an average of 56% off your rail fare and can often save much more. Sign up to thetrainlines ticket alert to receive an email when cheap advance tickets become available for your chosen route.

2. Buy a Railcard
Railcards can save you 1/3 off your rail fares. Costing around £40 a year they can pay themselves back in just one or two journeys. Visit railcard.co.uk for costs and eligibility.

3. Singles can work out cheaper
Two singles can often work out much cheaper than a return journey but bear in mind you don’t have the same flexibility as with an open return. If you miss your train you may have to buy another ticket.

4. Travel Off-Peak
Avoid the rush and save on your fare by travelling outside of the peak hours (7-9am and 5-7pm)

By Coach

Travelling by bus or coach can be a very cost effective way to travel.

Megabus.com offer extremely cheap fares but aren’t always as fast or comfortable as other options. National Express provide an often quicker and more comfortable service and great value ‘fun fares’ can be found on most routes.

  Hire a Coach

Hiring a coach can be a great way to transport large groups that are all leaving from a central point. Coach companies are often very flexible with pick up points.
