Large Group Rental Information:
Springhead is a beautiful seven-acre estate in North Dorset on the borders of both Wiltshire and Somerset. Its stunning lakeside gardens are featured in the book ‘1001 Garden You Must See Before You Die’ by Rae Spencer-Jones, which was published in 2007.

The centre is primarily used by youth groups and schools on educational and holiday trips and by adult groups on retreats. Its vibrant, inspirational environment is situated in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and nearby down land recognised as a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’. People of all ages, especially the young, find it an exciting and enriching place to visit.

When a group books the Centre, it has the exclusive use of the 18th century mill buildings, stable block accommodation and Trust’s lakeside gardens. In the main mill building, there are three good-sized reception rooms. The dining room on the ground floor overlooks a picturesque courtyard where in summer guests can enjoy eating al fresco. The other two reception rooms are situated on the first floor and overlook the lake. The larger room, namely the Mill Room, can seat up to 60 people theatre style and is ideal for workshops and presentations. While the Garden Room offers comfortable wicker chairs, a fireplace with a log burner and French doors leading onto the gardens.

The accommodation in the grounds and cottage has bunk, single and twin bedrooms for up to 36 persons. Plus, there is an en-suite twin bedroom in the Mill building, which has disabled access and facilities. All rooms have been refurbished in 2008: walls and ceilings have received fresh coats of paint; roller and skylight blinds have replaced curtains, a new carpet has been laid in the Fruit Store and Stable Block and all the bedding has been changed to boast attractive co-ordinated blue and white duvet sets. In addition, sheet sleeping bags are now provided.

Guests have the option of full, half board or self-catered facilities.
