Large Group Rental Information:
Situated in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Pentillie Castle is set in more than 500 acres of beautiful park and woodlands. It is a stunning location available to hire exclusively for weddings, a family get together, anniversary celebrations, corporate entertaining, or team building exercises. The property is completely secret - you can only see it from the River Tamar.

Explore the gardens and surrounding woodland over the course of a 3 night stay, and enjoy the experience of your very own large country castle. Explore the idyllic woodland paths lined with snowdrops or bluebells down to the river and across fields, watch out for deer, buzzards and our resident peacocks.

There is plenty for those with a historical bent - Sir James Tillie still resides in his Mausoleum at the top of the property looking out over the river, and there are plenty of secrets to be discovered on walks through the American Gardens, full of camellias and rhododendrons during spring and early summer. Autumn does not disappoint either, when the woods become a riot of colour.

The castle is self-catering although we can organised fabulous local chefs to cater for you during your stay. Our wine list has been compiled by local Master of Wine, Liam Steevenson, and reflects the style of Pentillie Castle - classic, but a little quirky!

Pentillie Castle recently underwent an extensive renovation project to fully modernise all amenities ensuring a fully 5 star experience. The Castle was finished in June 2009.

Pentillie Castle is perfectly situated for trips to the gardens of Cornwall - Lost gardens of Heligan, the Eden project to name but two, and is also within easy striking distance of both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. Plymouth's Theatre Royal and National Aquarium are also nearby.

Kitchen: Newly refurbished to highest standards with 4-door Aga and six burner gas range, central kitchen table. Two commercial dishwashers and an ice maker.
Dining Room:  Pannelled dining room with original cornicing and portraits. Large formal dining table seats 18-20. 60 can be seated for a wedding breakfast.
Sitting Room: Large formal drawing room with open fire. Also licensed for civil ceremonies. Morning room more casual and opens onto South terrace
TV and Music Facilities: Plasma TV in morning room with Sky. Second TV available in games room with DVD facilities.
Heating/Open Fires:  Fully refurbished central heating and pressurized hot water system throughout castle. Open fires in drawing room, dining room and morning room.
Bedrooms: Nine en-suite double bedrooms. Eight upstairs with wonderful views over the River Tamar or gardens. One bedroom on ground floor with disabled access.
Linen: All linen supplied. Cots and mattresses can be supplied at £30 per night
Bathrooms: Nine en-suite bathrooms. Separate male, female and disabled facilities on the ground floor
Disabled Facilities:  Fabulous large double bedroom on the ground floor with disabled access. En-suite wet room. Separate disabled toilet facilities on ground floor.
Children's Facilities:  Children welcome. Can be accommodated in 2 airbeds and 2 cots. Supervision required at all times especially near river. Extra linen £30.
Outdoor Facilities:  Fabulous walks through woods and estate. Gardens and kitchen garden to explore. Golf and beaches nearby. River activities possible. Croquet and Boules
Swimming Pool:  Gorgeous walled outdoor 9heated by solar panels) swimming pool next to the castle. Must be used under supervision from responsible adult.
Parking:  Plenty of car-parking available. Helicopters and boats can also be accommodated.
Telecom Facilities:  Telephones available in kitchen and Castle office. Wireless broadband available in most rooms. Mobile reception variable.
Smoking:  Outside only
Pets:  Unfortunately not inside the house at all.
Games Room:  Games room in the cellar with billiards, table tennis, board games, large TV, DVDs and iPod dock.

Pentillie is just off the A388 Saltash to Callington road. It is just 20 minutes from Plymouth with great transport links. 4 hours drive from London.
 
Nearest Town:  Pentillie Castle is 5 miles from both Saltash and Callington. Plymouth, 3.5 hours from London by train is only 20 minutes away.
Nearest Shop:  Newspapers and basic groceries are available at Hatt, 1.5 miles away. Pasties, local greengrocers, butchers and Waitrose within 4 miles.
Nearest Pub/Eatery:  The Coryton Arms is in St.Mellion 3 minutes drive. The Rod and Line in Tideford serves delicious crab and scallops and often has live bands - 15 mins.
Nearest Airport:  Plymouth
Nearest Train Station:  Plymouth, or Saltash is even closer although the direct trains are not so often.
Nearest Bus:  National Express to Plymouth Bretonside. From Plymouth the number 76 comes to the top of the drive
