Large Group Rental Information:
We can accommodate up to 27 people in two large dormitories and a family room. Our peaceful accommodation is an ideal peaceful hideaway, set in the rolling hills of Mid Wales and only a short walk from the picturesque historic town of LLanidloes.

The bunkhouse boasts a well equipped kitchen and dining room and has spacious, pristine bathrooms. The communal area has comfortable seating and plenty of space with fabulous elevated views over the surrounding countryside. The local market town of Llanidloes straddles the River Severn.

Local facilities such as a golf course, an outdoor pursuit centre, a clay pigeon shooting range, a motorbike school and the sailing club at Clywedog Dam are all close by. A little further away to the south is the Elan Valley with its spectacular Victorian dams. To the west magnificent waterfalls can be seen at Devil's Bridge. From here a steam train can be taken to the seaside town of Aberystwyth. To the north, Cader Idris is waiting to be climbed and Lake Vyrnwy with its amazing bird life is about an hour away by car.

Walkers and Ramblers are extremely well catered for in mid-Wales. Those travelling the Glyndwr Way or Severn Way will find that Plasnewydd Bunkhouse makes an excellent stop over. The local area is also the perfect cycling destination for people of all ages and abilities, offering world class mountain biking trails, sleepy forest roads, traffic free cycle ways, quiet lanes or river bank rides. Plasnewydd is the ideal break for long distance cycle rides with the cycle routes Lon Las Cymru (route 8) and Lon Cambria (route 81) passing our doorstep. At the end of the day, the numerous cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways are close at hand to satisfy the hungriest of explorers. Open all year round, Plasnewydd can cater for all. We can offer sole-use of the bunkhouse for large reservations, as well as taking bookings on a room to room basis for smaller groups.

Catering: Self catering. Catering can be provided with prior booking if required.
Kitchen: Plasnewydd bunkhouse has a fully equipped kitchen.
Dining Room:  The dining room has plenty of seating and has excellent views as you are dining.
Sitting Room: There is a seating and dining area all in one with a comfortable leather sofa for relaxing.
TV and Music Facilities: No
Heating/Open Fires:  Under floor heating downstairs and radiators up stairs give the bunkhouse a warm comfortable feeling.
Bedrooms: Two large dormitories and one family room all with good quality comfortable mattresses.
Linen: Linen is provided if required at a small extra cost or you can bring sleeping bags.
Bathrooms: There are two large shower blocks. Also a disabled toilet downstairs and a toilet upstairs.
Disabled Facilities:  There is a disabled toilet downstairs
Children's Facilities:  Plenty of wide open spaces around the bunkhouse, ideal for ball games.
Outdoor Facilities:  BBQ area with picnic benches with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
Swimming Pool:  There is a swimming pool in Llanidloes, 5 minutes away.
Parking:  Ample parking and turning facilities ideal for mini buses.
Telecom Facilities:  No
Smoking:  There is a no smoking facility within the bunkhouse.
Pets:  Guide dogs are welcome.
Games Room:  There are some board games available.

We are located in beautiful Mid Wales just off the A470.
 
Nearest Town:  The historic town of Llanidloes is 5 minutes away.
Nearest Shop:  The market town of Llanidloes is situated within walking or biking distance.
Nearest Pub/Eatery:  There is a wealth of cafe and public houses in Llanidloes serving delicious local food.
Nearest Airport:  Cardiff, Manchester and Birmingham airports are within a two hour drive from Plasnewydd with a small airport at Welshpool, 30 minutes away.
Nearest Train Station:  Caersws train station is 7 miles away.
Nearest Bus:  There is a bus service running out of Llanidloes. Also Celtic travel do day trips.
