Large Group Rental Information:
Kinnaird Castle is an impressive building with an atmosphere combining 600 years of history with light, airy rooms and a homely feel. It is set in rolling countryside on the east coast inland from the Montrose Basin and alongside the Southesk River.

Guests can enjoy the luxury of antique furniture, spacious rooms and grand surroundings in conjunction with the warmest of welcomes. Families will enjoy the wildlife in this unspoilt corner of Scotland and the freedom and safety of a traditional estate.

With the best of Scottish golf courses nearby (Carnoustie and St Andrews) , the beautiful Angus Glens and unspoilt beaches Kinnaird offers something for everyone. Fishing is on offer on the estate and limitless walks.

The apartments hold 10 people each and a further annexe of two large bedrooms and a bathroom can be added to either or both for larger groups. They interlink and are on the second floor of the castle affording spectacular views. The Macduff apartment has 5 large double rooms each with their own bathroom and Barony six bedrooms with four doubles and two singles and four bathrooms.

Corporate parties and celebrations are a speciality of ours and we are happy to organise catering for any occasion and housekeeping. Please ask and we will be happy to oblige.

Kinnaird is more than a hotel. It is a way to relax in sheer luxury with peace and privacy.

Catering: We can provide local caterers for special occasions or offer a full serviced dinner, breakfast and housekeeping option for guests for maximum comfort.
Kitchen: Both apartments have well equipped kitchens and cool storage space.
Dining Room:  Macduff dining room sits up to 12 and the Barony 16 guests.
Sitting Room: A spacious sitting room in the Macduff can easily sit 12-14 people while the Barony room is characterful. Each has a log fire
TV and Music Facilities: TVs with DVDs and CD players in each apartment.
Heating/Open Fires:  Heating in the castle is very efficient and is cosy throughout the winter and summer. Both apartments have open fires.
Bedrooms: Macduff has 2 double and 3 twin bedrooms all with own bathrooms. Barony has 6 bedrooms (2 twin, 2 double with four bathrooms.
Linen: Egyptian cotton sheets and two towels per guest are provided
Bathrooms: The 10 bathrooms vary in character. Large antique baths in many with showers in over half of the bathrooms. Macduff bedrooms all have their own bath.
Disabled Facilities:  There are no disabled facilities. Both properties are reached by stairs.
Children's Facilities:  The castle is ideal for family parties with acres of woodland, safe and varied bicycling, lake and river fishing. All safety devices included in lets
Outdoor Facilities:  Each apartment has a dedicated garden/barbecue area for entertaining. Otherwise a wealth of walks and wildlife await including fishing.
Swimming Pool:  There is no swimming pool but for the more adventurous there is lake swimming and there are long sandy beaches
Parking:  Plenty of space for all types of vehicle.
Telecom Facilities:  No
Smoking:  Smoking is not allowed in public places in Scotland. We have terracotta pots outside the doors and under cover!
Pets:  Are welcome but are not allowed into bedrooms. We make an extra housekeeping charge if this rule is broken.
Games Room:  Several games and DVDs are available. One bedroom in annexe has a small billiard table.
 
Large Group Property Location:
 
The castle lies near the Southesk river on the edge of the Montrose Basin. With glens, beaches, country houses and golf courses on the doorstep.
 
Nearest Town:  Brechin is 3 miles from Kinnaird, the seaside town of Montrose 6 miles and Forfar and Arbroath about 14 miles.
Nearest Shop:  Brechin has every type of food store.
Nearest Pub/Eatery:  Brechin
Nearest Airport:  Dundee airport lies 30 miles (45 minutes), Aberdeen 45 miles (1 hour) and Edinburgh is 80 miles (1 1/2 hours). Glasgow is 2 hours away.
Nearest Train Station:  Montrose station with direct line to London and with sleeper service is 6 miles from the property. Arbroath is 13 miles.
Nearest Bus:  National bus services are in Dundee and Aberdeen. Car recommended.
