Large Group Rental Information:
The Shippon is a detached converted barn with magnificent views down to and over a completely unspoilt, building-free stretch of the navigable river Dart. You approach the property down about a half mile private tarmac drive and there is plenty of parking space once you reach the Shippon. This is a marvellous place to bring your children and their friends or your friends and their children!

There are some good walks, especially into Totnes (40 minutes mostly on a good tarmac cycle track), excellent pubs/restaurants, bird watching and badgers, foxes, deer and even an osprey has been seen.

Inside the Shippon the majority of the heating is provided by electric night storage heaters with a couple of convector heaters in 3 bedrooms. There is always plenty of hot water from 5 immersion tanks. A wood burner in the sitting room gives added warmth and cosiness in the winter.

Group Accommodation Details:                                             
 
Catering: An extensive menu is available to choose from and meals will be delivered to the Shippon for you to enjoy in the comfort of your property
Kitchen: Well equipped kitchen with range cooker (duel fuel - 5 gas hobs and electric oven & grill), dishwasher, microwave, 2 fridges & usual small appliances.
Dining Room:  There are 2 beech dining tables (both 8' x 4') usually put together to form a square and seat 18 but can be separated to seat 12 on each.
Sitting Room: Large sitting room on first floor is really comfortable and has amazing views to the river. There is access to the area behind the Shippon.
TV and Music Facilities: There is a 32" flat screen TV with DVD player and a Sky package which includes sports and movie channels. Also a portable Radio/CD player.
Heating/Open Fires:  Electric night store or convector heaters in all the rooms and 5 immersion heaters for hot water. There is a wood burner in the lounge, logs available
Bedrooms: A total of 18 can sleep in 10 bedrooms (4 doubles, 4 twins and 2 singles). There are no bunk beds, rooms are completely separate and most have a view.
Linen: Linen is provided and there are duvets (feather or fibre) throughout. Towels are extra (3 for £3) although bathmats and kitchen towels are supplied.
Bathrooms: Each bedroom has its own bathroom however there are six en suite bathrooms, one private shower room and one private "wet room" (suitable for disabled)
Disabled Facilities:  Not registered for disabled but most of the Shippon is wheelchair friendly and a new wet room has been designed with wheelchairs in mind.
Children's Facilities:  Spacious games room with table tennis and pool table on the first floor. There is also a small colour television
Outdoor Facilities:  At the Shippon, a childrens play area with big trampoline, slide and swings and hard tennis court. 150yds away there is a full size grass croquet lawn
Swimming Pool:  150yds from the Shippon, there is an outdoor, heated swimming pool (1 metre deep) with roller cover. This is shared with owners family
Parking:  Off road parking for about 10 cars
Telecom Facilities:  BT phoneline and wifi
Smoking:  Smoking is permitted but we request you smoke outside
Pets:  Dogs are welcome by arrangement but are not allowed in bedrooms or sitting room
Games Room:  Spacious games room with table tennis and pool table on the first floor. There is also a small colour television

Ideally situated for either South Devon coast or Dartmoor: both half an hour drive. Close to Dartington Arts Centre & Sharpham Winery and Cheese Dairy
 
Nearest Town:  Totnes (40 mins walk, 2 miles by car)
Nearest Shop:  Totnes with a variety of small, privately run shops - especially good local food suppliers
Nearest Pub/Eatery:  Durant Arms, Ashprington
Nearest Airport:  Exeter
Nearest Train Station:  Totnes
Nearest Bus:  National Express to Totnes. Community buses only to within half mile of property
