Beach Head Bunkhouse, St Eval, Cornwall, sleeps 14 in 2 bedrooms.

The bunkhouse is ideal for groups seeking a quiet escape from hustle and bustle. It is more suited to groups of adults and families with older children (over the age of 10). We regret that we don't accept stag or hen groups, nor is it suitable for those who wish to hold parties due to the close proximity to other holiday accommodation.

Owned and managed by the National Trust, Beach Head Bunkhouse sits overlooking the sea. It is perfect for use as a base for many outdoor activities in the surrounding countryside with its beautiful scenery, high cliffs, glorious sandy beaches and nearby moorland areas.

Ideal for exploring north Cornwall, Beach Head is situated between Newquay and Padstow. It is within less than an hours drive from the Eden Project, Boscastle and the Camel Trail at Wadebridge. Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps are just a couple of miles along the coast. The National Trust properties of Lanhydrock, Trerice and the Tintagel Old Post Office are all within easy reach.

The bunkhouse sleeps 14 people in two dormitories and has two wash rooms with showers, toilets and basins. There is a fully equipped kitchen, communal dining and living area with a wood burning stove. There is central heating throughout. Books and board games are freely available to borrow and there is a dart board (please bring your own darts).

There is a laundry room with washing machine and drying rack.

Ample parking is provided adjacent to the bunkhouse and there is an area to sit outside and perhaps enjoy a barbecue with views of the sea.

Kitchen Details
There is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, large fridge/freezer and microwave.
Dining Room
There is a large table with bench style seating in the main living area on the ground floor with the kitchen adjoining.
Sitting Room
Next to the dining area is an open space to relax in with comfortable chairs and sofas.
TV and Music Facilities
There is no TV or music player.
Telecom Facilities
There is a payphone in the main living area. Mobile phone reception is dependant on network but very limited.
Games Room
There is no formal games room but a selection of board games and books are available to borrow.
Heating / Open Fires
The building is centrally heated and a wood burning stove (logs not provided) is located in the main living area.
The bunkhouse is divided into 2 dormitories each containing 6 bunks plus an adjoining small single bedded room.
Mattress covers are provided but visitors need to bring their own pillows, sleeping bags and blankets.
Below each dormitory is a washroom with showers, toilets and hand basins. There is a small sink in each single bedded room.
Disabled Facilities
Regrettably Beach Head is not suitable for disabled visitors.
Children's Facilities
There are some board games provided although we advise checking with us for more information about the suitability of Beach Head for young children.
Outdoor Facilities
There is plenty of space to sit outside with simple bench seating and a barbecue area.
Swimming Pool
There is not a swimming pool at the bunkhouse but there is a public swimming pool in Newquay (approximately 8 miles from Beach Head).
There is ample space for up to about 7 vehicles to park adjacent to the bunkhouse.
Smoking is not allowed inside any of the building.
With regret we do not allow animals.

Large Group Property Location

Beach Head sits on the B3276 between Newquay and Padstow. The SWCP is within easy reach. Bedruthan Steps and many other local attractions close by.
Nearest Station
To Newquay (on the Paddington to Penzance Intercity route, change at Par) or Bodmin Parkway. No bus from either station.
Nearest Bus
Beach Head sits on the 556 bus route operated by Western Greyhound but there is no stop in easy walking distance.
Nearest Airport
Newquay International Airport - 6 miles.
Nearest Town
The nearest town is Padstow, 6 miles away.
Nearest Shop
There are small stores in the two nearest villages (Porthcothan and Mawgan Porth) and supermarkets in both Padstow (6 miles) and Newquay (8 miles).
Nearest Pub / Eatery
There are several pubs within easy driving distance of Beach Head.

Booking Information

Exclusive use is £180 per night Fri to Sun, Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year.

£160 Mon to Thurs nights. A deposit of £100 is required.
