Castle Farm is a spacious holiday home in an absolutely stunning and private location in the Black Mountains, providing outstanding views and sumptuous accommodation. Whether it is a large family reunion, stag party or a simple mid-week escape from the city, this is the perfect venue.

The 40-acre farm stands in an exceptionally private location, with direct access to the Brecon Beacons National Park behind the house, its own stretch of river for paddling in, and acres of woods.

This is a fabulous place for lovers of the great outdoors, with superb hill walking outside the door. BBQs are actively encouraged, either next to the river or closer to the house. There’s also a riding outfit that will, if booked, turn up at the house with horses for anyone who wants to go trekking. Foodies will be in heaven, pottering around the famous market at Abergavenny and trying restaurants such as The Walnut Tree and The Hardwick. For the more literary, Hay-on-Wye is seven miles away.

The dining room in the farmhouse has a 12-seat Georgian table, which can be extended to seat 16, while the light and airy kitchen can seat a further 10 and has an Aga, a Butler sink and plenty of wooden workspace.

The bedrooms have big, cosy beds, thick duvets, freestanding wardrobes and chests of drawers and plenty of homely touches. This is not a house for lovers of en-suite facilities, but there are two bathrooms in the farmhouse, one in the cottage, and another one in The Barn. The Cottage is stylish and minimalist, again hugely comfortable.

The setting is completely isolated, not a neighbour in sight and only 2.5 hours from London.
