We offer 3 star accommodation and home cooked meals to enable group leaders to concentrate on their programme, A manage lives onsite in separate accommodation and is available for emergencies and ensuring your stay runs smoothly. Dunfield is situated in a rural corner of Herefordshire, close to the Welsh border. Easily found by sat nav and 16 miles from Leominster rail station for links to the North and 20 miles to Hereford rail and bus stations for links across the whole country. There are public bus connections to Kington which is 2 miles from Dunfield. Our flexible team in the kitchen can offer early starts and late finishes, home prepared, three cooked meals a day that mean you never leave Dunfield hungry. There is 24/7 access to a hot water boiler for mugs of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, squashes biscuits and cake. Special diets are catered for with ease and special/celebration meals can be arranged. 100 people can be seated in three adjoining dining rooms. 150 can be seated in 4 dining rooms.
Our accommodation is bunk style [with an average of 4 beds per room – 57 single or lower beds 6′ x 3′ wide] with stunning views of the Dunfield valley. We have two large meeting rooms, two lounges [one with wood burner] and plenty of rooms for small group activities. The larger room has table tennis and pool available.
We have 15 acres of grounds laid to terraced lawns, level grassed area for team games/building, football and volleyball. We have an orchard, woodlands and stream that are available for use along with two campfire sites. Our managers have a long association with Dunfield and the local community, you are invited to come and have a look around, have a meal to sample the food and ask the questions that will make your planning run smoothly.

There are 4 en-suite onsite, with shower/toilets close to all rooms (or can be allocated to individual rooms for dedicated use). Wet room in Stables.

Swimming Pool

Indoor heated swimming pool, 1.38 mtr constant depth. Suitable for up to 20 people with tracking hoist for people with disabilities.

We are a smoke free centre - but an outside area for smokers is available on request.

Location

Dunfield is accessed off the A44, 2 miles west of Kington, 1/4 mile from the Welsh border. If using a sat-nav, avoid arriving from the B4362 which brings you up a very narrow lane.

  • requested stop approx 2/3 mile on the A44, regular buses from Kington (limited service on a Sunday), links to National buses from Hereford
  • Knighton (10 miles) for links to the North, Leominster (16 miles) for links to the North & South, Hereford (20 miles) for links to the Midlands, London & South West
  • The small market town of Kington is 2 miles away with wonderful independent traders, with Hereford and Leominster approx 20 miles away. Market towns in Powys are all unique and worth a visit
  • Small tuck shop on-site, with local shops 2 miles away. The kitchen in the main house is always happy to help if you run out of anything.
  • The nearest pub/restaurant is 2 miles away, either back into Kington or a short hop over the border to Wales. Our team will be happy to share local knowledge with you when you arrive.
  • Birmingham and Cardiff, both approx. 2 hours away
