A truly stunning historic house in the best location in Tenby. Perfect for family or friend's reunions or celebrations. Sleeps upto 19 in proper beds. East Rock House is perfect for family celebrations and Milestone 'big birthdays' or special friend 'get togethers'.

Very extensively renovated the house provides luxury accommodation for 19 in 7 bedrooms. Fully centrally heated, no expense has been spared in making this a truly wonderful house to enjoy for a special holiday.

Situated on the cliff above South and Castle Beaches the house enjoys private access steps to two of the best beaches in the world. (Castle beach was the Sunday Times 'Best Beach in Britain' in 2019.) Incredible sea and coastal views. Fabulous cedarwood hot tub, private and sheltered terrace. Courtyard with gate and private steps directly onto South Beach.

East Rock was built in 1799 and Nelson himself slept here!

The lower ground floor is one open kitchen/dining space with double doors onto the courtyard. Rangemaster professional cooker. Next floor has the drawing room opening onto balcony overlooking the beach and a second lounge. Well behaved pets allowed lower two floors.

1st floor: Trafalgar Suite: super king size bed plus copper bateau bath; Emma's Retreat: a twin bed; Cloakroom and Rainshower room. 2nd floor: The Victory Room: double and twin beds; Admiral's Retreat: twin beds; Bathroom with bath and shower. 3rd floor: Nelson's Lookout: En suite bathroom, triple room, double and single bed;The Mast Head: twin beds and a double; The Crow's Nest: two singles. All bathrooms brand new. T.S./V.R/ M.H./C.N overlook South beach, Nelson's overlooks North Beach.

Tenby town is on the doorstep, with its 4 beaches, harbour and huge number of cafes/restaurants. A holiday retreat for centuries, this medieval town is the jewel in the crown of the Pembrokeshire National Park. Tenby wins National Awards as 'Britain's best Coastal resort'. Britain's only Coastal National Park the 180 mile Pembs Coast Path goes right through Tenby plus the 2 golf courses and leisure centre with Pool.

Facilities

Dog Friendly

Well behaved dogs very welcome. Lower ground floor/ground floor and courtyard only, not on the sofas please! Nor in hot tub and clean up mess please!

Disabled Facilities

None! But we also rent a luxury one bed apartment, Little Albion, overlooking the harbour and only 150 yds away, it has no steps, unlike East Rock.

WiFi

Super fast' Internet Wi-Fi available throughout East Rock house. Mobile phone coverage, except in middle of kitchen!

Kitchen

New bespoke kitchen with all mod cons. Designed with sociability as well as function in mind. Fully equipped. 2 double doors opening onto courtyard.

Dining Room

Part of the open plan kitchen on lower ground floor. Long table seating 16-22. Double doors opening on to the courtyard overlooking the beach.

Sitting Room

Beautiful Georgian room with fireplace and stunning views over the beach and islands. Door onto large balcony. Also a relaxed children's sitting room.

TV and Music Facilities

TV and DVD player in formal and informal sitting rooms on the ground floor. Internet Wi-Fi throughout house. Ipod docks/radios in kitchen/ Sittingroom

Games Room

The children's living room has a Wii console as well as masses of board games, books for toddlers to teenagers, Lego, puzzles, DVDs and other toys.

Heating and Open Fires

Underfloor heating in lower ground floor and bathrooms, new central heating throughout. Heated towel rails in all the bathrooms.

Bedrooms

7 bedrooms total. 4 bedrooms overlook South Beach, a fifth overlooks North Beach. Sleeps 19 all in real beds - no bunk beds/pull outs!

Linen

Beds will all be made up. Luxury Egyptian cotton bath towels provided for all (and beach/hot tub towels if needed.) Tea towels also.

Bathrooms

5 bathrooms. Master bedroom has luxury copper bateau bath. 1 bath on both the first/second floors, 2 on the third floor (1 en suite). Cloakroom.

Children's Facilities

Children's informal living room with comfy sofas, TV/DVD and games console. Lego, toy cars, puzzles, books, board games etc. Buckets and spades.

Outdoor

Lovely courtyard garden with uninterrupted sea views. Amazing cedarwood Hot tub. Teak tables and chairs. Barbecue. Outdoor hot shower. Steps to beach.

Swimming Pool

There is a swimming pool (also a child's pool) at Tenby Leisure Centre on the edge of town. The blue flag beaches have lifeguards in holiday season.

Parking

Parking is not possible at the house. Drop off bags then park at the municipal parks (£4 a day max). Occasionally a parking place c.100m available.

Strictly outside only please.

Booking Information

Changeover days Mon or Fri. 30% deposit required on booking, remainder due 8 weeks before. Cancellation policy available on request, deposit usually forfeit unless re-let. Refundable damages deposit of £400 required. Low season 4 midweek nights at bargain prices. Drop me an email if any questions!

Location

For many people its a case of driving west on the M4, then A48, A40 and finally the A477. We are two hours from the Severn Bridge crossing into Wales.

Tenby on the doorstep! Pembroke with its castle or Narbeth with its excellent shops and cafés are only 10 miles away, though in different directions.
Just around the corner. Bakers, fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer, a Tesco's Express all in/near Tudor Square. There's no need to drive anywhere.
Nearest pub is over the road, the Hope and Anchor, very nice. Masses of restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket within very easy walking distance.
Cardiff (92 miles), Bristol (131 miles), Birmingham (202 miles). (Heathrow is further away and about 3 hours 30 mins drive.)
