It offers fully central heated 3* hostel style accommodation for up to 25 comprising: 2 large dormitories (8 + 13 in bunkbeds & 3 singles), 2 smaller first floor rooms (2 beds each), 3 toilet and shower areas including wheelchair accessible facilities. There is a mezzanine work area, fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker, dishwasher, washer/dryer), payphone, off road parking, playground and secure covered bike storage. Comfortable accommodation in peaceful surroundings - but it was not always so. In its turbulent history Great Fryupdale has been a Jurassic sea populated by dinosaurs, an ice age lake, a Bronze Age swamp, a site of medieval mining and Victorian iron foundries. Now it is back to what it was in Viking times when the Norsemen named it after their favourite goddess. "Freya's Valley" is once more a quiet pastoral backwater waiting for you to come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Fancy a bit of Adventure? Outdoor activities can be booked from the near by East Barnby Centre as part of your stay including pickup & drop off. Please enquire for more information. ## Facilities - **WiFi:** Payphone in the Centre, "rural" internet connection. Mobile reception currently irregular! - **Accessibility:** Disabled access and facilities to the ground floor. - **Dog Friendly:** Pets welcome subject to agreement with Centre staff beforehand. - **Kitchen:** Fully equipped to cater for a large group. - **Dining Room:** This is a small washable floor covered area adjacent to the kitchen. Seating for 16. - **Sitting Room:** A cosy carpeted room with sofas, TV and DVD player. - **TV and Music Facilities:** Flat screen TV, satellite dish and DVD player. - **Games Room:** There is no games room but there is an enclosed yard to the rear of the building. - **Heating and Open Fires:** Full central heating. - **Bedrooms:** 2 rooms with bunk beds, sleeping a total of 21, 2 rooms with 2 beds, sleeping a total of 4. - **Linen:** All bed linen is provided but please bring your own toiletries and towels. - **Bathrooms:** Ground floor: 2 rooms of toilets/washbasins/showers, including disabled access. First floor: 1 bathroom with bath, washbasin, shower, toilet - **Children's Facilities:** Cots, high chairs currently unavailable. - **Outdoor:** Tarmac playground and games. - **Swimming Pool:** No pool, but Whitby and Loftus pools are easily accessible by car. - **Parking:** Off road parking for 4 cars, or use of playground if not needed for children's recreation. - **Smoking:** This is a no smoking establishment. ## Rental Rates ### Headline rates - From **£1890** per week - From **£810** for a 3-night weekend - From **£540** for a 2-night weekend - From **£270** per midweek night ## Booking Information - Available all year round.
