## About The Property

GMAC residential centre is situated in the beautiful village of Greenmoor, which is 6 miles north of Sheffield in the Upper Don Valley in South Yorkshire, close to the Peak District National Park. Green Moor Centre is the Sheffield & District Battalion the Boys Brigade’s residential centre for training and outdoor pursuits. The accommodation is ideal for school and youth groups, but also works well for walking groups and other groups looking for a base for an outdoor activity break. The Centre is let on a self catering, self clean basis with exclusive use.

The accommodation is provided in a converted chapel established in 1812, then a Sunday School before falling into disrepair. In 1990 it was purchased by the Sheffield & District Battalion the Boys' Brigade and completely altered and refurbished to a high standard. The accommodation comprises a centrally heated two floor building with a basement. The Centre sleeps 26 people and can be increased to 30 if required.

The design is adaptable and can be used for single sex or mixed groups and includes disabled access. There are 3 bunk rooms to sleep 22 and 2 staff bedrooms to sleep 4, additional 4 fold-out beds beds if required. On-site parking is adjacent to the building and easily accommodates three cars or two minibuses.

The Centre is ideal for exploring the Dark Peak, is close to the Pennine Way and the Trans-Pennine Way and a great base for world class climbing at Wharncliffe Crags. Nearby Morehall reservoir is ideal for canoeing and sailing. There are plenty of local walks and heritage sites nearby. Pony trekking is available less than 3 miles away and mountain bike routes not so far from the centre. Advice is available on the booking of local activities and amenities. The Centre is also close to Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley and other South Yorkshire attractions.

There are no shops or facilities in Greenmoor, ideal if you're wanting to get away from it all. Local shops at Stocksbridge are only a short drive away.

## Facilities

- **WiFi:** The Centre has a phone for emergency calls only and can receive calls but outgoing calls are barred. WiFi is available and included in the cost
- **Accessibility:** Ground floor bedroom with access to shower room and toilet. Bedroom sleeps 2 in bunk beds.
- **Dog Friendly:** The Centre is not suitable for pets.
- **Kitchen:** Kitchen has a full 6 ring commercial range, commercial microwave, fridge freezer and all equipment required to cater for 30 people.
- **Dining Room:** Dining room is adjacent to the kitchen and can seat 30 people. Tables and chairs can be set out as each group chooses.
- **Sitting Room:** Large activity room 9m x 6m. Chairs to seat 30. Flexible space ideal for training courses. Board games available.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** There is no TV or music players on site.
- **Games Room:** The basement has a table tennis table, pool table, air hocky and dart board.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** The Centre is centrally heated, there are no open fires.
- **Bedrooms:** 3 rooms with bunks sleep 10, 8 and 4 a staff room for 2 and downstairs staff room for 2 or suitable for 1 disabled person. 4 additional fold out beds.
- **Linen:** Linen is not supplied. Users to bring own sleeping bags and pillows.
- **Bathrooms:** 3 separate toilets, 3 separate shower rooms and one washroom with 3 basins. Ground floor shower room/toilet with disabled access.
- **Children's Facilities:** The Centre does not have specific equipment for small children. Where we can accommodate we will on request.
- **Outdoor:** The Centre has a small outside area suitable for a BBQ but has no other outside space. There is a nearby children's play area and a usable green space
- **Swimming Pool:** The Centre does not have a swimming pool. The nearest public pools are at Stocksbridge and Barnsley Metrodome.
- **Parking:** Parking is limited but there is sufficient space for two minibuses and three cars.
- **Smoking:** The Centre has a no smoking policy inside the building.
