Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. The Old Glebe, Waldron, Heathfield, East Sussex, sleeps 6 - 22 in 10 bedrooms.

Property is priced for 16 people (across both houses), across 10 bedrooms.

We can sleep up to 22 including 2 single beds in the loft room.

Minimum: 2 nights mid-week, 3 nights W/E, 4 nights Bank Holiday W/E, 7 nights Christmas & Summer School Holidays.

Stable Cottage is only bookable with the Big House.

The Big House and Stable Cottage offer stunning interior design, gardens and grounds, perfect for a family get together or company bonding trip. Grandparents or young families can have a quiet space in the cottage.

There is a dining room table seating up to 18. The grounds are extensive and stunningly maintained with a tennis/football court, heated swimming pool (available April-Oct - weather permitting), trampoline, croquet, darts, hammocks (in summer), swings, BBQ, picnic areas, pick-your-own orchard and gardens.

It is hard to find real countryside in a location so easily accessible from London; just 1 hour by train to London Bridge Station. Waldron is perfect in every way; a lovely little village complete with walks, a great pub serving food and a church, all set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our home has 30 acres of farmland, with views to the South Downs and the sea at Beachy Head, about 30 minutes drive. Other fabulous local attractions include Goodwood Races, Bewly Water Park, South Downs National Park, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Brighton and of course Glyndebourne Opera House, just a short drive away. There are plenty of activities in the area including riding, shooting and gliding, although guests find so much to do at home they often only leave for a walk and a meal at the pub.

NB: Whilst our house is very private up a long drive, noise carries down to the village and out of respect for our neighbours we request no music after midnight and all outside music is kept to a low level at all times. This is not a party house, it is a luxury family home with precious, high quality fixtures and fittings.

Dogs are accepted at £15 per dog per night.

Wide stairs but no ground floor bedrooms or bathrooms.

WiFi

WiFi is available in both the House and Cottage. NB: It's a domestic connection which can be slow if all guests log on together. Best spot is in Loft.

Kitchen

House: Seats 18 (22 with trestle), AGA, Smeg hob/oven, 2 d/washers, m/wave, w/mach, t/dryer. Cottage: Seats 8, d/washer, m/wave, w/mach, hob/oven.

Dining Room

House: Huge table seats 16-18 (22 with extra trestle). Cottage: Seats 8.

Sitting Room

House: 3 reception rooms - large sitting room, snug and games room. Seating 18 plus. Plus huge kitchen/dining room. Cottage: open plan living room.

TV and Music Facilities

TV/DVD in sitting rooms. Good supply of DVDs to watch in both houses. DAB/Digital AMP in kitchen with ceiling speakers.

Games Room

Table tennis in Games Room. Card table and cards. Dozens of games in both houses. Books, darts, mini snooker.

Heating and Open Fires

Both properties are fully heated with underfloor heating, radiators and towel rails in most bathrooms. There are 2 fireplaces & 1 wood burning stove.

Bedrooms

House: 3 King doubles with en-suites/3 doubles sharing family bath/Loft Room with King double, 2 singles & Z-beds. Cottage: 3 King doubles, 1 double.

Linen

All linen and 1 towel per person, hand towels in communal bathrooms, WCs. Please bring your own pool towels.

Bathrooms

6 bathrooms: House: 4 en-suite plus 1 family bathroom and a downstairs WC. Cottage: 1 en-suite plus 1 family bathroom and a downstairs WC.

Children's Facilities

Travel cot, high chair, board games, traditional wooden toy shop, trampoline with safety net, tennis rackets, hammocks, swing, table tennis.

Outdoor

Heated outdoor pool, tennis court/football pitch (No Astros), trampoline with safety net, BBQ, fire pit, outdoor seating, hammock, swing, croquet.

Swimming Pool

Heated pool (April-Oct - weather permitting) only to be opened by an adult. No loud music outside at any time. Outdoor kitchen at an extra charge.

Parking

There is parking for at least 10-15 cars. Please do not park on the lawns.

Smoking

Strictly no smoking inside but smokers may smoke outside but please dont throw stubs in the flower beds.

Price are for up to 16 guest, with extra guests charged at £80 per per/per night min nights apply, max 22.
2 night min weekdays, 3 night min weekends, 4 night min bank holiday weekends, 7 night min School Summer Holidays & Christmas.

Location

Waldron is just north of the South Downs, Eastbourne and Beachy Head. This area of East Sussex offers many opportunities for days out, walks, town and beach trips, theatres, pubs, restaurants and more

Whilst feeling that you are deep in the countryside, Waldron is very well connected with Heathfield approximately 5 minutes drive, Lewis 15 minutes, Brighton 35 minutes and Tunbridge Wells 30 mins.
Heathfield - with all supermarkets and all facilities - is 4 miles away.
A lovely village pub with great food is about 10 minutes walk across the fields or down the drive and turn left. The Blackboys Inn is a short drive and perfect too. Heathfield has many more options.
