Parkergate consists of seven self-catering holiday cottages in converted former barns, dating back to the 18th century and sleeping between two and eight people each. The rustic feel of the former farm mixed with a simple, cosy but modern luxury certainly leaves a lasting impression.

All cottages have fully equipped kitchens and cosy living spaces. Each cottage has:

- Recycling facilities for paper, glass, cans and plastics

- E-cover washing up liquid, hand towels and a bath sheet provided

- Standard size electric ovens (apart from the Farmhouse which has an LPG hob and a double electric oven)

- A small fridge with an ice box, with the exception of Whinlatter which just has a fridge, and the Farmhouse which has fridge freezer (communal freezer coming soon!)

- A complimentary basket of logs (additional baskets can be supplied upon request for £5)

- Cots and high chairs which can be provided free of charge upon request

Facilities at Parkergate include:

- Reception with tourist information and a small shop for essential items - including local produce, milk, fire lighters and kindling

- Communal laundry room with e-cover washing powder

- Free Wi-Fi in the Farmhouse only (however, please note that due to the rural location connection can be intermittent or infrequent at all times and therefore isn't guaranteed)

- DVDs, maps and walking guides which can be borrowed upon request

- Gardens with two ponds overlooking the lake, and a communal outdoor seating area.

Facilities

Each cottage has a kitchen with standard size electric ovens (apart from the Farmhouse which has an LPG hob and a double electric oven)and a fridge.
Dining table for number each cottage sleeps in sitting room.
With sofas, TV, DVD player - DVDs available. Some have open fires or wood burners.
TV in each sitting room.
No phones in the accommodation but most mobile networks have coverage. Wi-Fi in the Farmhouse, but can be unreliable.
There is no games room.
A complimentary basket of logs is given to each cottage with open fire or wood burner. Central heating in all cottages, apart from Stable (storage).
There are 1 to 4 bedrooms in each cottage. A mixture of doubles, twins and singles, and some pullouts available. Please enquire.
Bed linen supplied. There is also a communal laundry room with e-cover washing powder.
A mixture of bath and shower rooms.
There are no specific disabled facilities.
Cots and high chairs are available which can be provided free of charge upon request.
There are gardens with two ponds overlooking the lake, and a communal outdoor seating area.
There is no swimming pool.
Lots of parking available.
This is non smoking accommodation.
Stable, Ullock Pike, Black Moss and the Farmhouse all allow pets.

Location

Parkergate is very easy to find as we are just off the A591 between Keswick and Bassenthwaite, in the North West of the Lake District National Park.
Keswick, 6 miles away.
Nearest supermarket is Booths in Keswick, which is 6 miles away. There is also a Sainsbury's in Cockermouth (9 miles away). Small shop on site.
The Sun Inn at Bassenthwaite. Food served but booking is advised. Its about a 1.5 mile walk away via a fairly busy road.
