We provide comfortable accommodation for up to 48 people in 9 shared rooms, each having either four or six beds.

The hostel divides conveniently into two areas, the Old House and the Annexe.

We have a well equipped self catering kitchen where guests can cook their own meals and also our own restaurant standard kitchen in which we prepare breakfasts, lunches, packed lunches and evening meals. We try to be flexible and cater to all tastes and budgets and we are very happy to work with guests to provide exactly what they require.

We have a full drinks licence and a range of beers and wines are available to accompany meals served in our dining room or in the garden.

Scarborough Youth Hostel is regularly used by schools, universities, youth groups, sports teams, church and other religious groups, walkers, cyclists, surfers, families and friends who wish to explore and enjoy Scarborough the North Yorkshire coast.

Scarborough is not just a brilliant family seaside resort, it is also home to the biggest open air auditorium in Europe where top line live acts play all though the summer. Scarborough Spa hosts top names from the world of jazz during the Jazz Festival. There is also a vibrant literary scene centred around the Stephen Joseph Theatre and the Literary Festival.

For the more active there is excellent surfing, epic mountain biking, wild walking on the moors and coast, sea swimming, TT motorcycle racing, and the annual Cycling Festival.

The North Yorkshire coast is a great place to play hard, but also a great place to work hard and Scarborough Youth Hostel is the perfect place for student groups to do both. We are both experienced teachers and we are happy to work with schools and teachers to develop programmes of field study, coursework and activities.
