Less than an hour from London, Upper House is one of 2 adjoining rental properties, originally built as a rural escape from the owners’ busy London life.
It sits high on the Hampshire Downs and is the perfect place for a chilled out weekend - relaxing, chatting, cooking and enjoying the view across 5 acres of fields and gardens. If sitting around isn't your thing - it's also a great place for an active weekend with superb access to the South Downs Way or the Queen Elizabeth Country Park for walking, cycling or horse riding. In the garden there's also a fabulous Mongolian yurt (available in the summer for a small extra charge) - great for a camping adventure or a laid back dinner in unusual surroundings.

The kitchen is the hub of the house - its super-efficient workflow a blessing for enthusiasts and cooks whether it's dining in the evening for grown-ups or making pancakes in the morning with the kids. If you prefer to be pampered - there’s also a ready supply of talented caterers who can come in to do breakfast, lunch and dinner, leaving you free to lounge by any of the 3 open fires.

Outside the kitchen is a brick terrace, with bbq and a polished concrete dining table.

Inside - the main reception area is an impressive drawing room with double height ceiling supported by ancient pitch pine beams with an open fire at one end, a plasma TV at the other and a mezzanine above.

The 5 bedrooms, a library and a mezzanine sleep up to 16. They’re flexible and stylish with a good mix of sizes to suit all groups.

Outside, it’s a 30 min walk to the western section of the South Downs Way and miles of bridleways, or 15 mins by mountain bike to the new trails at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

20 mins by car, on traffic-free backroads, is Glorious Goodwood, The Goodwood Revival or The Festival of Speed. There’s sailing, surfing & paddle boarding at Langstone Harbour, Hayling Island or Wittering. There's also trips to Cowes on the IOW or to GO APE at Alice Holt Forest. Nearby there is also fly fishing, quad biking and paint balling - the list is endless.
