The Sustainability Centre is ideally situated in the Hampshire South Downs National Park, on the South Downs National Trail - a great base for walking, cycling and exploring the cultural heritage of one of the UK’s most dramatic and inspirational landscapes.

Wetherdown Lodge offers simple but comfortable accommodation for a variety of guests - from walking and cycling groups, school & college groups, birthday celebrations & family reunions, to companies looking for a team-building experience.

It can accommodate up to 38 people in 14 rooms, most rooms having a bunk and single bed. Bathrooms are shared and the lounge/dining area provides a comfortable social space. The modern fitted kitchen is ideal for self catering groups, or the on site Beach cafe can provide food by prior arrangement.

Ample space is provided for DofE camping and a woodland, family friendly campsite includes Tipis and Yurts for hire.

The Lodge or campsite can be booked out for exclusive use or on a per person basis. Catering and activities can be arranged in advance, or you can make your own arrangements.

Once the home of Royal Navy trainees, the Lodge has been completely renovated and is now a model in how to use energy and cut carbon emissions. The heating and hot water is provided by a biomass boiler, using locally sourced wood, whilst warmth is retained by wool fleece insulation. We are proud to hold a Gold Award for the Green Business Tourism Scheme.

The Centre is set within 55 acres of rich woodland and natural habitat for flowers, birds and animals.

Within a 3 mile walking distance of the hostel are Old Winchester Hill Nature Reserve, East Meon historical village, Clanfield Village, 4 country pubs, and many footpaths and bridle ways with beautiful views of the Downs.

The hostel is conveniently placed for a quiet country break or field trip, 10 minutes from the A3, and approximately 1.5 hours from London and 20 minutes north of Portsmouth.
