Stag and hen parties

There was a time when a stag or hen party meant a night out on the tiles in a destination not too far from home. Nowadays, things have changed! All of this means that at YHA, we like to think we’re pretty well-positioned to provide a fantastic offering to stag and hen groups. We have sites in all major cities including favourites like YHA Newcastle Central. In our newest hostel, we offer premium suites sleeping up to 14 people with two separate bathrooms as well as a separate lounge area with large screen Smart TV – perfect for your group!

If you’re more into rural settings, our beachside YHA hostels in Cornwall make for the perfect base to enjoy a fun-filled weekend with your friends. Whatever it is you choose to do with your final night of freedom, we’ve got something for you.

It’s no exaggeration to say that most of our hostels offer top-notch hiking potential including YHA Helvellyn. Located in the iconic Lake District National Park with fantastic walking opportunities around, it’s the perfect walking adventure base in the heart of rural beauty.

If you prefer more of a coastal ramble, why not book a stay at YHA Perranporth? Situated on a cliff top, with a fabulous view of a beach covering two and a half miles, it’s the perfect spot for exploring the South West Coast Path.

Cycling groups

Cycling is so much more than a fast and eco-friendly way of getting from A to B – in fact, to many it’s a way of life. With that said, why not try out some of our very best cycling holiday locations? Our network of cycling hostels is growing, with more and more hostels meeting our high cycling standards. A beloved YHA cycling location is the little market town of Helmsley that sits on the fringes of the North York Moors National Park. Its cosy YHA Helmsley draws cyclists of all abilities and the property is kitted out with a cycle store, and the park close-by has family-friendly forest tracks.

New Year’s Eve

You can plan a New Year’s Eve getaway at any time of the year, and the earlier you start thinking about it, the less likely you are to find that your favourite spot is all booked up. If you’ve yet to conjure a great idea to spend the night, we recommend YHA Beverley Friary. Situated near the Yorkshire Wolds, this beautifully restored Dominican friary is a real treat for those who choose to stay there.
