How to organise a self catering holiday in 2021

Many of you will now be desperate to plan a family gathering in 2021 and beyond.

With different COVID-19 restrictions in place across different countries within the UK, the below is a brief summary of the current situation:

England:

From 12th April: People can stay overnight in self contained holiday accommodation but only with members of their own household or support bubble.

From 17th May at the earliest: Groups of up to 6 people or 2 households can stay in self contained holiday accommodation.

From 21st June at the earliest: it is hoped that there will be no restrictions on the number that can stay together in holiday accommodation.

 

Wales:

From 12th April: Guests can stay overnight in self contained holiday accommodation but only with members of their own household or support bubble.

From 3rd May at the earliest: Groups from 2 households may be able to stay in self catering holiday accommodation, but this may be subject to restrictions on the size of the group.

Children under 11 are not included in the limits on guest numbers.

 

Scotland:

From 26th April: Level 3 - Guests from 1 household can stay overnight in self catering holiday accommodation. It is likely that guests from Scotland, England or Wales will be able to travel to Scotland. The rules for guests from Northern Ireland remain under review.

From 17th May at the earliest: Level 2 – Guests from 1 household, or up to 4 guests from 2 households, may be able to stay overnight in self catering accommodation.

From early June (date to be confirmed): Level 1 – it is hoped that up to 6 people from up to 3 households will be able to stay in self catering accommodation

Children of 12 years and under are not included in the limits on guest numbers.

 

Northern Ireland:

From 30th April: Guests from 1 household can stay in self contained holiday accommodation.
