Group Accommodation Brecon

In the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the market town of Brecon can trace its history back to ancient times, via an old Welsh kingdom called Brycheiniog. Today, its mostly Georgian and Jacobean streets are full of shops, pubs, galleries and restaurants. History lovers should visit Brecon Cathedral which has the largest cresset stone in Britain, and there are two museums as well. The town is also at the end of the Monmouth to Brecon canal, which ends in a canal basin near the theatre. The yearly Brecon Jazz festival is held every August, drawing in jazz greats to this little mid Wales town, and music fans will discover there’s a Baroque Music Festival as well. You can walk from the town centre through the Groves and up into the Beacons, so it’s a perfect base for walkers too.
