A range of excellent itineraries and catering services can be arranged, such as banquets in Scott’s magnificent dining room, clay pigeon shooting and golfing in the local area, guided tours, hot tub hire and even a personal chef.

With seven luxury ensuite bedrooms, and an adjoining additional eighth bedroom, this accommodation is ideal for families, groups of friends or colleagues celebrating a special occasion, or those simply looking to escape to the Scottish Borders in style. All the bedrooms are individually styled and named after family members or distinguished guests of the Hope Scott's, including Queen Elizabeth II’s aunt, Princess Alice, who was a regular visitor. These include a grand four-poster ensuite bedroom, a deluxe fully accessible suite and five luxurious double or twin ensuite rooms, one with an adjoining queen-size room – perfect for a young family or close friends.

The elegant public rooms provide the perfect place to celebrate and relax. You can enjoy the peaceful reading room, billiard room, games corner and lavish sitting room. A large bespoke kitchen comes with a range of excellent facilities and the formal dining room boasts spectacular views of the River Tweed. Outside you can unwind in the privacy of Hope Scott Wing’s courtyard and patio garden, stroll along the woodland and riverside paths and have exclusive afterhours access to Scott’s immaculate Regency Gardens.

Location

Abbotsford is situated in Melrose, in the heart of the Scottish Borders, and only an one hour drive for Scotland’s beautiful capital city, Edinburgh.

  • Melrose and Galashiels are only a ten-minute drive from the accommodation. Other quaint market towns, including Kelso, Selkirk and Jedburgh, are also all within half an hour drive from Abbotsford.
  • There is a large Asda, Tesco and M&S located in Galashiels, less than ten minutes from the accommodation.
  • Ochiltree's cafe on Abbotsford's estate for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Provender in Melrose for dinner.
  • Edinburgh. Newcastle and Glasgow are also pretty convenient.
  • Tweedbank Railway Station is only 1.5 miles away. Here you can catch a train to Waverley Station, Edinburgh.
  • Five-ten minutes' walk away in Tweedbank.
