Once home to Sir Walter Scott’s granddaughter, Charlotte, the Hope Scott Wing retains the intimacy and integrity of a family home, while introducing all the essentials of modern-day comfort.

Wherever your interests lie, whether it be history, culture, romance, the great outdoors or rest and relaxation, you will find them amply represented here at the heart of “Scott Country”. Our experienced staff will be delighted to help you curate a bespoke itinerary that makes your stay truly unforgettable. A range of excellent itineraries and catering services can be arranged, such as banquets in Scott’s magnificent dining room, clay pigeon shooting and golfing in the local area, guided tours, hot tub hire and even a personal chef.

With seven luxury ensuite bedrooms, and an adjoining additional eighth bedroom, this accommodation is ideal for families, groups of friends or colleagues celebrating a special occasion, or those simply looking to escape to the Scottish Borders in style. All the bedrooms are individually styled and named after family members or distinguished guests of the Hope Scott's, including Queen Elizabeth II’s aunt, Princess Alice, who was a regular visitor. These include a grand four-poster ensuite bedroom, a deluxe fully accessible suite and five luxurious double or twin ensuite rooms, one with an adjoining queen-size room – perfect for a young family or close friends.

The elegant public rooms provide the perfect place to celebrate and relax. You can enjoy the peaceful reading room, billiard room, games corner and lavish sitting room. A large bespoke kitchen comes with a range of excellent facilities and the formal dining room boasts spectacular views of the River Tweed. Outside you can unwind in the privacy of Hope Scott Wing’s courtyard and patio garden, stroll along the woodland and riverside paths and have exclusive afterhours access to Scott’s immaculate Regency Gardens.

- **Dog Friendly:** We welcome up to three well-behaved dogs on the large basement level, where the Breakfast Kitchen and Games Corner are situated.
- **Accessibility:** Stair-free entrance. Lift to all floors. One fully accessible ensuite bedroom.
- **WiFi:** Wi-Fi throughout the building on an unsecured public network.
- **Kitchen:** Fully equipped bespoke Breakfast Kitchen offers a spacious and stylish dining experience for informal occasions.
- **Dining Room:** Grand Dining Room, overlooking Scott’s most treasured views of the River Tweed. Seats up to 16 guests.
- **Sitting Room:** Decadent Drawing Room, complete with open fireplace, grand piano and TV with DVD player, comfortably seats 16.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** TVs in every bedroom except Lady Scott's dressing room (adjoining eighth bedroom). Portable bluetooth speaker and streaming services provided.
- **Games Room:** Impressive Billiard Room, with unusual military artefacts on the walls. Board games in public spaces throughout the Wing.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Full central heating. One large open fire in Drawing Room, complete with club fender.
- **Bedrooms:** Eight; a four-poster ensuite, a fully accessible suite and five double or twin ensuite rooms, one with an adjoining queen-size room.
- **Linen:** All linen and towels provided. Housekeeping packages can be arranged.
- **Bathrooms:** Six luxurious bathrooms, one shared 'Jack and Jill' style and one fully accessible.
- **Children's Facilities:** Cot, highchair, dining chair booster seats, children's cutlery/crockery, baby-changing mat. Our Wi-Fi works well for your baby monitor.
- **Outdoor:** Private courtyard and patio garden equipped with BBQ. Exclusive afterhours access to Abbotsford's Regency Gardens.
- **Swimming Pool:** A six-person hot tub can be arranged.
- **Parking:** A large forecourt area immediately in front of the Wing is reserved for your party's use only. Up to 10 cars can be parked here.
- **Smoking:** Smoking is allowed outside the property. Please use our antique fire buckets as your cigarette bins.
