Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Abercynrig, Llanfrynach, Brecon, Powys, sleeps 7-14 in 7 bedrooms.
Abercynrig is a very attractive manor house in the pretty village of Llanfrynach, 10 minutes from the market town of Brecon. This is a great place for family and friends to gather in order to celebrate a milestone birthday or anniversary in beautiful country estate surroundings. Please note: absolutely no pets allowed - this is a shooting estate.
The long sweeping drive is a precursor to the luxury you will find at Abercynrig. The drawing room offers sumptuous seating for all guests in front of a roaring open fire. The snug is a more intimate, cosy space, great for a chat or reading a good book. The light and airy conservatory is another sociable area for everyone to gather after a meal in the traditional farmhouse kitchen or in the more formal dining room. For a special meal, the owners can arrange for outside caterers to come in and provide a feast, leaving you to sit back and relax.
Bedrooms offer a combination of king sized beds and twins across 2 floors, each individually designed with opulent soft furnishings, period features and views across the estate. Facilities are plentiful, a mix of traditional with modern convenience on all floors.
Popular with visitors of all ages is the on-site games room with table tennis and pool table. A family game of tennis or cricket may well be on the cards and both can be enjoyed in the grounds of Abercynrig. There is a small lake and orchard all set in 120 acres of a private riverside estate parkland with half a mile of double bank fishing. This is some of the best brown trout fishing on The River Usk. Fishing can be booked via the "Wye and Usk Foundation".
This area is famous for its walking and cycling opportunities. Pen Y Fan, the highest Beacons peak, is only a short drive away or there are lovely walks or rides along the river into Brecon. Towns such as Crickhowell and Abergavenny are about 30 minutes away and are excellent places for a mooch in the shops and a meal in one of the wide range of recommended eateries. Further afield, Cardiff is just over an hour away with its choice of attractions including St Fagans Welsh Life Museum, White Water Rafting and the spectacular Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
A returnable security bond of £350 is required. No dogs on any account as this is a shooting estate. Friday is changeover day. No stags or hens.
