Annfield House, a large holiday house in Callander, is a great base for exploring this very beautiful and picturesque area in the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Filled with spectacular lochs, rivers and hills, the area is a favourite with walkers and cyclists. Callander is a busy little town and regarded as being the Gateway to the Highlands. Annfield House is also perfect for multi generation families and friends getting together for a celebration or a lovely holiday.
This Victorian house has recently been renovated to provide luxury living and sleeping accommodation. The kitchen is ideal for cooking meals for 10 after a day out exploring. The formal dining room is fabulously styled with original windows, high corniced ceilings, a fireplace and opulent decor - a warm, conducive space for long dinners and catching up on the latest family stories. The kitchen table and chairs are a nice spot for informal breakfasts. One large lounge and a smaller sitting room works well with multi generation families and those who want a bit of peace or privacy. When the sun shines in Callander, the enclosed garden and seating area under the trees is good for barbecues and evening drinks.
5 large doubles comprise very spacious and comfortable bedrooms, with throws and cushions contrasted with modern florals to create individual design and touches of colour. Some of the bedrooms have en suites. Bathroom facilities are plentiful across the house.
Callander is lovely little town, filled with pubs, restaurants and cafes to visit, all within walking distance from Annfield House. Hikes to Bracklin Falls or Ben Gullipen are easily do-able from the house as are many other hill walks. Loch Venachar and Loch Lubnaig nearby for scenic walks and wild swimming. Further afield is Stirling Castle with an impressive 16th century Great Hall, comparable as a tourist attraction with Edinburgh Castle. A boat trip on nearby Loch Katrine is highly recommended with possible sightings of ospreys. Glasgow is, of course, a fantastic city offering lots of shopping, festivals and a fun night out.
