A very remote building, our recently updated bunkhouse houses up to 50 people across 9 dorm rooms, two of which are en suite with the other rooms sharing two large washrooms. The dining room is designed to seat 50 and there's use of a full commercial kitchen. There's also exclusive use of an attached cabin/bar with PA, lighting and cinema style projector. There are 3 acres on site, with the centre backing directly onto 1500 acres of open access forest.
A brand new biomass heating system means the place will be kept warm and cozy, a perfect place for any kind of meetup from outdoor adventures to parties.
The setting of the Centre is quiet and secluded, on the edge of the Crychan Forest and providing fantastic opportunities for hiking, cycling and enjoying the Dark Skies. This is a great base for field study groups too, and suitable for a wide range of other groups including large family and friends reunions, celebrations and workshops or team building events with colleagues.
Located in the secluded village of Tyr Abad, just off the Epynt Military Range, our remote location offers the perfect escape for those seeking peace and quiet. Or for those who want a bit of isolation to stay up late and make some noise. Step out your door into hundreds of acres of forest, or take a short 30-minute drive to the breathtaking Brecon Beacons Mountain Ranges.
While secluded, we’re not completely isolated. The nearest village, Llwynywertyd Wells, is a two-hour walk or 20-minute drive away and offers a pub, basic shops, and the world-famous bog snorkeling championships. For more extensive amenities, the towns of Llandovery and Builth Wells are a 30-minute drive away. And both Tesco and Asda will deliver to the door.
