Whether you’re a group of friends wanting an action-packed weekend away, organising a family celebration, or you’re a club wanting a social event, then Argoed Lwyd will be able to provide what you’re looking for.

Located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons with views over to Pen y Fan, South Wales’ highest mountain, Argoed Lwyd is a converted 19th century traditional Welsh farmhouse which can accommodate large and smaller groups in the Farmhouse (sleeps 25) and the Longbarn (sleeps 14). An annex is linked to both the Farmhouse and Longbarn and can be hired with either accommodation type, extending the accommodation capacity by 10 beds. Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, drying rooms and a comfortable lounge with log burner.

Taking full advantage of our location, we are licensed and approved to deliver a full range of fun, challenging outdoor pursuits, such as mountain walking, waterfall walks, gorge scrambling and orienteering. It’s the perfect opportunity to try some of our popular activities or a great present for the whole family! Children must be accompanied by at least one participating adult.

We also offer accommodation only options, for those planning to lead their own groups on an expedition. The Centre is a short walk (10 minutes) to the National Park Visitors Centre and there are many country walks in very close proximity. Our accommodation will act as the perfect base and we can even arrange for a caterer to prepare a welcome meal for you at the end of a long day using our on-site kitchen. There is also a village pub at the bottom of our lane who serve homemade meals with a friendly welcome!

In a secluded setting, with stunning views over the Welsh mountains, Argoed Lwyd Outdoor Education Centre is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors and get away from it all.

Disabled Facilities

3 ground floor toilets, 2 of which have disabled facilities. There is 1 shower. We can adapt a lounge area into a ground floor bedroom if required.

WiFi

WiFi at the property. Phone signal varies (seems to vary according to weather conditions) from very good 4G to no service.

Kitchen

Fully equipped commercial kitchen with gas cooker, dishwasher and domestic size microwave. Extensive fridge and freezer space available.

Dining Room

Dining area with seating for up to 49.

Sitting Room

Ample seating and log-burner.

TV and Music Facilities

TV and DVD player available upon request.

Games Room

Board games and cards available.

Heating and Open Fires

Centrally heated with wood burner – logs provided but charged.

Bedrooms

Dormitory style rooms with bunkbeds. All our bedrooms have single bunk beds in bedrooms of 2, 4 6 or 8 beds.

Linen

Please bring your own bedding or sleeping bags, and towels.

Bathrooms

There are 3 showers and toilets in the Farmhouse, 1 in Annex and 2 in Longbarn. There are drying rooms (for kit) in an outside building.

Children's Facilities

There are no facilities especially for children. However, board games and cards are available. All of the outdoor activities are suitable for ages 7+.

There is a decking area and outside tables and benches.

Parking

Limited parking available. The Centre is accessed by a narrow, single track lane, which is unsuitable for coaches only minibuses.

Smoking

Smoking only in designated area outside.
