The Hampshire village of Steep is a fantastic location for multi generation families, friends, keen walkers and cyclists wanting a holiday base in tranquil Hampshire countryside close to the South Downs and within easy reach of the coast. These 2 holiday cottages near Petersfield provide very comfortable accommodation and work particularly well with a mixed age group where peace and privacy may be a consideration. Well behaved dogs are very welcome at Ashford, a working farm. Furthermore, Steep has two excellent local pubs serving good food and ales.

Poet's Cottage is a charming cottage with a well equipped kitchen and lounge diner. It has a split level garden outside, a lovely space for family barbecues and enjoying the reliable Hampshire sun. The Turkey House is semi detached, full of period features and cosy corners. The farmhouse kitchen, complete with Aga, is perfect for cooking together and the lounge diner a sociable space for eating and relaxing. The garden is enclosed and large enough for everyone to dine al fresco together.

One bedroom in Poet's Cottage is on the ground floor next to a shower room, great for grandparents, young families or anyone less mobile. Bedrooms are attractively designed with large windows. The triple master bedroom in the Turkey House is also a good option for anyone with youngsters, spacious and with pretty soft furnishings. There's a luxurious Victorian roll top bath in each house (there is no shower in The Turkey House).

Ashford Farm has direct access into the Hampshire Hangers, an area of beautiful woodland, and the renowned Shoulder of Mutton Hill - perfect for anyone wanting to walk from the door without getting in the car. For longer trails the South Downs aren't far away and the beaches at West Wittering and Hayling Island are within easy striking distance. For a family day out look no further than Portsmouth, full of interactive historic attractions with something for everyone.

This is a great choice for anyone visiting Goodwood for an event.

Dogs are allowed - there is an additional cleaning charge per pet - but please remember this is a working farm.

Both cottages have fully fitted kitchens and include dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Turkey House has an Aga and breakfast table. Barbecues.

Dining Room

12 can dine together in Turkey House. Outdoor seating for barbecues.

Sitting Room

Poet's has an open plan lounge diner with comfy sofas and TV. Turkey House has a separate lounge with plenty of sofas and a feature fireplace.

TV and Music Facilities

Turkey House has a Smart TV and DVD player. Poet's has a TV in lounge area.

Games Room

There is no games room.

Heating and Open Fires

Both properties are centrally heated. The fireplace in The Turkey House is a feature and sadly not in use.

Bedrooms

Poet's has a king, twin and a queen. En suite downstairs. Turkey House has a triple, twin and a double. Both houses have an extra sofa bed.

Linen

Bed linen and bathroom towels are included.

Bathrooms

Poet's has a bathroom upstairs with roll top bath and ground floor shower. Turkey House has bathroom with roll top bath and a hand held shower. WC.

Children's Facilities

Travel cots, high chairs, toys and books.

Outdoor

Poet's has private outside dining and barbecue on 2 levels but not enclosed. Turkey House has enclosed garden, patio and barbecue.

There is no pool.

Check in from 3pm, check out by 10am (extended checkout on 2 night weekend, to 5pm). Self check in with lock box. Please keep noise to a minimum between 11pm and 7am. No parties or events please. Well behaved dogs allowed – additional charge. No smoking. A security deposit of £350 is required.
