Situated in 65 acres of stunning grounds in the New Forest National Park, Avon Tyrrell has something for everyone from outdoor learning residentials for schools, development programmes for youth organisations to short breaks away for family and friends. With an extensive range of outdoor adventure and field studies activities linked to the National Curriculum, personal and professional development programmes, to indoor meeting spaces for various self-guided activities, Avon Tyrrell is the ideal location for group retreats.

Our Grade I listed house stands as the focal point on the estate, sleeping from as little as 20 up to 109 people in dormitory style bedrooms.

Rooms sleep between 2-10 people and our house is split across 3 floors so we can isolate areas using electronic keypads to safely accommodate various groups at a time. You will have access to plenty of space to chill out or to run some of your own activities. A TV/DVD player is available, pool table, table football and a bar can be booked in advance for larger groups.

The house is fully accessible with access ramps, lifts to all floors, accessible toilets and wet rooms fitted with handrails, wide access doors and emergency cords and we can provide additional equipment i.e. shower beds, hoists etc.

For those staying in the main house, we provide full board catering offering choice at every meal and we can cater for all dietary requirements.

If you are looking to make the most of your visit, you can book your group on to various outdoor activities including; Archery, Climbing, Kayaking, Paddleboarding, High Ropes, Bushcraft, Pioneering, Raft Building, Zip Wire and more….

In addition to our main house, we can also accommodate groups in self catering forest lodges offering a bit more independence or various camping areas are available for groups and families looking to really experience the great outdoors.
