This large group house in Elie sleeping 14 (with an additional sofa bed for extra guests) is a great place for friends and families to gather for a seaside weekend break in Fife, or a beach or golfing holiday. The layout, of what essentially are 3 separate houses linked by adjoining doors, is particularly handy for multi generational groups where some guests might require a little more peace and privacy. The ground floor bedrooms with en suites in No 13 have proved popular for those with any mobility issues although please bear in mind that the living accommodation is on the 1st floor in this upside down house.
Open plan living in No 13 and No 15 makes for a really sociable time together, with the whole group being able to sit down for a meal at No 13 another bonus. Lounges are very comfortable with plenty of relaxing sofas, sea views, wide screen TVs and a cosy log burner in No 15.
Bedroom accommodation is well designed and very stylish. The ground floor rooms in No 13 have French doors opening onto the courtyard and all are en suite. The Harbour Cafe is a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee and piece of cake while taking in those fantastic Firth of Forth views and watching the pleasure boats arrive for the day. The sea front Ship Inn comes recommended as somewhere special to sample locally sourced food and traditional ales. Anstruther is a pretty fishing village about 10 minutes away and has an excellent fish & chip shop to try out. There are 2 good golf courses in Elie, including one of the finest links clubs in Fife, and The 19th Hole pub serves up delicious home cooked fayre.
