Tucked away at the end of narrow lane, The Barns offers a peaceful retreat whilst offering the bustle of the heart of the Peak District within a moment's reach. Perfectly located, it is a great base for families and mixed groups who are looking to cycle, walk and enjoy all the Peak District has to offer. Hop onto the Monsal Trail with its breathtaking scenery or spread your wings a little further - the stately homes of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are a 10 minute drive away or the popular spa town of Buxton is 20 minutes. Bakewell has copious pubs, restaurants and quaint tearooms to visit, alternatively a firm favourite is fish and chips by the meandering River Wye in Bakewell's beautiful park, and visiting the ducks.

The Barns has been renovated to provide fresh, modern accommodation for groups of up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms. The two barns have been cleverly adjoined to offer 4 double/kingsize beds and 1 one bunk bed room with full sized bunks. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor whilst the others lead from one of the two oak staircases from the open-plan living/dining area. There are two large contemporary bathrooms, one with a separate bath and shower and one with a shower over bath.

Downstairs the property has a generous open-plan living and dining room with plenty of soft seating to unwind in after a hard days exploring or to socialise whilst looking out onto the garden through the floor-to-ceiling windows. There is a large, oak dining table with seating for up to 10 guests for you to enjoy dining in together - Bakewell has plenty of shops offering a range of local produce definitely worth taking advantage of! The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need for self-catering and plenty of space to prepare and produce your local feast.

Outside the property has a well-maintained lawn area with flowering borders and a fantastic patio area with comfortable garden furniture to host a barbecue (please bring your own charcoal) or sit and enjoy the tranquil garden. The outdoor shed offers secure storage for those wanting to bring along their own bikes and there's even a hose at hand to wash down muddy wellies and wheels after your adventures.

There is no swimming pool, however Bakewell swimming pool is only a 3 minute walk away.

There is private parking for up to 5 cars at the property. Please note access to the property is down a short narrow lane (approx 3 metres wide).

Location

150m from the centre of the historic Peak District market town of Bakewell with its array of boutique shops and eateries. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both only a 10 minute drive away.

  • Bakewell's main square by the Rutland Hotel (2 minute walk away) is the best bus stop location for connections to all of the Peak District services as well as the National Express from London.
  • Buxton railway is 12 miles away, approx 25 minute drive. The city of Sheffield's central railway and bus stations are around a 40 minute drive (17 miles).
  • A two minute walk into the centre of Bakewell, a historic market town renowned for origination of the Bakewell Pudding. There is a monthly Farmers' Market and every Monday is market day.
  • Two minute walk from Bakewell town centre, with an abundance of independent shops, butchers, delis, bakeries (including the original Bakewell Pudding Shop). There is also a Co-op and Spar supermarket.
  • There is a great variety of places to eat all within a 5 minute walk; for a lovely restaurant meal try Piedaniels which specialises in French cuisine or for great gastropub food The Manners is a must!
  • Manchester Airport is approx. 35 miles (1 hour by car). East Midlands Airport 50 miles (around 1 hour 5 minute drive).
