Surrounded by vineyards and the beautiful landscapes of the Aude Valley, a stay at Barthe Gites is relaxed with flexible accommodation suitable for multi generational families, groups of friends, walkers, craft and painting groups and business gatherings - privacy when required but shared spaces to enjoy one another's company. Set around a pebbled courtyard, the gites offer very comfortable accommodation with a traditional rustic French country feel. Alaric is the most spacious, with a kitchen diner and living room, while the others have open plan living areas. Each has a private patio area and access to all the shared amenities on site. Fitou and Minervois have 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 in each gite Alaric and Corbiere have 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 4 in each gite The shared areas are central to the experience. Gather in the traditional courtyard for al fresco dinners, enjoy a barbecue in the 'village square' or spend relaxed evenings in the games barn, where you'll find table tennis, pool, table football, darts, books, toys and board games. The barn can also be used for large group dining undercover if necessary, and includes a kitchen for the preparation of group meals. The covered pétanque court is great fun for friendly competition, while the secluded large swimming pool (6m x 14m) and sun terrace provide the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the sunshine. Exclusive use groups enjoy all these facilities to themselves. During your stay head out to explore the surrounding countryside and vineyards of the Minervois and Corbières wine regions, with tours and tastings as well as the chance to buy wonderful wines at great prices. The nearby Canal du Midi is wonderful for walking and cycling with the option of boat hire, or visit the many Cathar castles in the area. Historic Carcassonne, the picturesque village of Minerve and the sandy Mediterranean beaches are all within easy driving distance too. Local villages host colourful markets, and the area produces fantastic food and wines. The owners live on site and can provide additional information to ensure you get the best from your stay. ## Facilities - **Dog Friendly:** Unfortunately we cannot accept pets. - **WiFi:** WiFi is available. - **Swimming Pool:** 14 x 6m swimming pool available between mid May and mid October. Securely fenced, within a walled garden. - **Games Room:** Games barn with table tennis, pool, darts and table football. Full sized undercover petanque court in the communal area. - **Everyone Can Dine Together:** There is space in the games barn for inside dining, and areas outside for al fresco meals. Inside and outside dining at each gite. - **Kitchen:** Well equipped kitchen in each gite. Kitchen for group meal prep in the barn. Gites have individual BBQs. There is also a large shared barbecue area. - **Sitting Room:** 3 cottages have open plan living areas and Alaric has a separate lounge. - **Outdoor:** Pool, sun patio, loungers, games barn, outside dining areas, barbecues and a petanque court undercover. Set within 5 acres. - **Bedrooms:** Combination of doubles and twins across the 4 gites. 1 en suite in Fitou and 2 en suites in Alaric. - **Bathrooms:** 3 en suites and shared bathrooms. - **Linen:** Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided. Beach or pool towels can be hired. Rest of the year 3 nights minimum stay – any day changeover. - - Not available at Christmas and New Year, unless on long let. - - A 20% deposit is required to secure a booking and the balance due 6 weeks before arrival. - - A refundable security deposit of 250€/£200 is asked for. - - Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. - - Cleaning charge of 200€ applies automatically if booking less than 7 nights (payable in cash on arrival).
