Base Lodge is a grade II listed Victorian house converted to a backpackers hostel.
5 bedrooms sleep 22 people in total (some groups have slept more!), with 2 of the beds being double/twin. Most bedrooms are large hence bed spaces can be changed to suite the groups requirements. Four of the bedrooms have a sink, and there are three separate showers & four toilets.
The dining room/lounge seats 22, there is a TV and selection of games & books. WiFi is available throughout the building. The kitchen has 2 ovens, 2 hobs and a microwave, two refrigerators and a small freezer. There is ample storage space for non perishable foods.
Base Lodge is boot and bike friendly downstairs, the rest of the building is carpeted. There is secure bike storage. There are 3 parking spaces at the rear of the building and ample free road-side parking at the front of Base Lodge.
Exmoor is ideal for walking, mountain biking, wildlife spotting and other outdoor adventures. There is a wide range of landscape types within walking distance: coastal, woodland and moorland, and traditional pretty rural villages.
There is also a high ropes course, indoor climbing wall and swimming pool on the nearby Butlins site. The Minehead Eye centre is an indoor arena for skate boarding and BMX jumps.
Base Lodge can provide a wide range of activities including guided walks, mountain biking and natural history tours.
