The detached Big White House is in the village of Greengill which is just 5 minutes from the market town of Cockermouth. The house provides fantastic access to the northern Lake District areas like Keswick, Bassenthwaite and Buttermere as well as the stunning Solway Coast area.

We also accept well behaved hen and stag groups. Take a look at the huge dining area, outdoor woodfired pizza oven and pool table room all on offer.

In total the Big White House has 11 bedrooms: 3x Double bedrooms, 4x Twin bedrooms, 1x Triple bedroom (with 3x single beds), 1x Family bedroom (with double + single beds) and 2x Bunk bedrooms – nine of the bedrooms also have en-suite toilet and wash basin. In addition, the house benefits from four bath/shower rooms spread over both floors.

The ground floor has a huge dining room with table and seating for 24 and adjacent snug area, pool table room, well-equipped kitchen and utility room with washer and dryer plus lounge area. The first floor has two additional lounges with TVs – one of which has a 75" TV and plenty of comfortable sofa seating. WiFi access is also available throughout the house for guests.

Outside the house you will find our outdoor undercover 'kitchen' area which has a special area for use of disposable BBQs as well as a wood fired pizza oven so you can cook up some delicious wood fired pizzas for you and your family. There is also tables and chairs plus picnic tables and an outside summer house.

The owners have a good range of contacts in the area and are more than happy to assist with providing details of many activities, caterers, and entertainment to make sure your stay is memorable.

Lying just outside the boundary of the Lake District National Park, Cockermouth is an attractive market town not overwhelmed by the tourist atmosphere of Keswick and Ambleside. Cockermouth is near to some of the more peaceful lakes and mountains.
