This detached house is located in the village of Greengill and is 5 minutes from the market town of Cockermouth. The house has good access to the northern Lake District areas like Lorton, Keswick and Buttermere.
The house can accommodate up to 24 people in 11 bedrooms and is an excellent venue for parties, social gatherings and family reunions.
The house is on the fringe of the Lake District National Park and has excellent views over the Solway to Scotland.
The Big White House has 11 bedrooms: 3x Double bedrooms, 4x Twin bedrooms, 2x Bunk bedrooms, 1x Family bedroom (with double + single beds), 1x Triple bedroom (with 3x single beds) with nine of the eleven having their own en-suite toilet and wash basin. The bedrooms are spread across the two floors. The house also has 4 separate bath/shower rooms.
The ground floor has a huge dining room with table and seating for 24, pool table room, well-equipped kitchen and utility room with washer and dryer plus lounge area. The first floor has 2 additional lounges.
WiFi access is also available.
Outside the house you will find our new outdoor undercover 'kitchen' area which has a special area for use of disposable BBQs as well as a wood fired pizza oven so you can cook up some delicious wood fired pizzas.
The owners have a good range of contacts in the area and can provide details of many activities, caterers and entertainment to make sure your stay is memorable.
Lying just outside the boundary of the Lake District National Park, Cockermouth is an attractive market town not overwhelmed by the tourist atmosphere of Keswick and Ambleside. Cockermouth is near to some of the more peaceful lakes and mountains.
