Birchenfields Cottages, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, sleeps 4-12 in 6 bedrooms.

A row of 3 cottages each sleeping up to 4 in 2 bedrooms having been converted in 1995 on the footprints of former farm buildings. Birchenfields Farm was originally a working farm but is now a family home set in a lovely rural setting in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands countryside but still in a great central location within easy reach of Alton Towers and on the doorstep of the Peak District - perfect for families and friends to meet for a special occasions, celebrate a birthday or just a get together. You can socialise and dine together while still having the privacy of your own fully equipped cottage.

The cottages are all on one level with an open plan living/dining area, with table to seat 4 people. Each has a picnic bench outside for enjoying the countryside views or garden and listening to the bird song.

There is a separate meeting or function room (at no extra charge for exclusive use groups) which easily seats 12 for dining together, and has sofas too. The meeting room has a dedicated kitchen, including a range cooker, induction hob and microwave. There's also a play barn which is suitable for all ages, with toys for the little ones, and a pool table, air hockey, table football and table tennis for those a bit bigger.

Our location offers an excellent opportunity to explore local Staffordshire attractions, many of them family friendly, including:

- Trentham Monkey Forest where you can walk with free roaming Barary Macaques
- Trentham Gardens
- Kingsley Bird and Falconry Centre (bird of prey and owl centre)
- Peak Wildlife Centre where you can see penguins, lemurs, otters and other animals
- Heritage steam Churnet Valley Railway and Foxfield railway
- fishing lakes
- the Stoke on Trent Potteries
- National Trust properties including Shugborough estate
- Uttoxeter Racecourse
- the National Arboretum, which is UK’s national centre of remembrance

Closer to home there are many wonderful walks with local footpaths on the doorstep. The nearest town of Cheadle is 2 miles away where you can visit Pugin's Gem, a stunning church. Cheadle has 2 supermarkets, shops, restaurants and take-aways.


Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.
Each cottage has a dining area seating 4 and the meeting room will dine 12 with its own crockery and cutlery and relaxing area.
Each cottage has an open plan living/dining room with 2 sofas and the meeting room has sofas and 14 chairs.
Each cottage has a large flat screen TV.
WIFI available.
A large play barn with table football, air hockey, pool and table tennis as well as kids toys and books.
Heating is available 24/7 365 days a year free of charge from our very energy efficient biomass boiler.
2 cottages have 1 double and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, bedside tables, wardrobes and chests of drawers. Corn Store: bunk beds and 1 double.
All bed linen is supplied and beds are made up with duvets ready for your arrival; bath sheets for adults and bath towels for children are provided.
Each cottage has a shower room with WC, wash basin and shower. There is a WC in the play barn and one in the laundry room.
All cottages are single storey but unfortunately are not very wheelchair friendly.
Use of the play barn. Travel cots and high chairs available but your own bedding needs to be supplied for the travel cots.
Each cottage has a patio area with a picnic table and benches.
We do not have a pool but there are several close by including Cheadle leisure centre, Alton Towers Waterpark and Stoke-on-Trent Waterworld.
A dedicated parking space is provided for each cottage with additional parking available if required.
Smoking is not permitted in the cottages, meeting room or play barn.
Sorry, we don't accommodate pets.


Birchenfields is 2 miles from Cheadle, 7 miles from Alton Towers and 10 miles from Stoke-on-Trent. The Peak District starts 9 miles away. We have easy access to the A50 and then the M6 and M1.
Cheadle 2 miles, Stoke-on-Trent 10 miles, Leek 10 miles, Ashbourne 15 miles, Biddulph Grange (NT) 18 miles, Shugborough Hall (NT) 22 miles, Buxton 23 miles, Manchester 50 miles.
Cheadle, 2 miles away with supermarkets Asda, Morrisons, and other independent stores including butchers, bakers and 2 post offices. A garage a mile away sells milk and limited groceries.
The nearest pub is the Huntsman 1.2 miles away. In Dilhorne local village 1.5 miles away there's The Royal Oak serving food and Charlie Bassetts. Cheadle 2 miles away with takeaways, some deliver.

The price is for the whole site (all 3 cottages sleeping 12 in total) and includes exclusive use of meeting room, kitchen and play barn. Do please get in touch if your group size is different or for more details. Deposit £50 and balance payable 6 weeks before arrival. Minimum stay 3 nights.

Nearest bus route is just over a mile away with routes into Stoke-on-Trent, Leek and Uttoxeter.
East Midlands Nottingham is 50 minutes away, with Manchester a close second at an hour away with Birmingham only 1 hour 15 minutes away.
