The various original bar areas on the ground floor make for sociable open plan living. The stainless steel kitchen and inside dining table are well set up for cooking and eating together and a stylish lounge perfect for chilling out and taking in the beautiful countryside views through a large picture window. And the basement is absolutely full of surprises. A distinctive cave bar provides a wonderful party space for dancing and drinks, there's a games room for pool and a home cinema to boot.
If the weather holds, the outside courtyard is a lovely space for a barbecue and drinks with an outdoor kitchen and large hot tub. Sit in the bubbles with a glass of fizz and catch up with mates while the kids kick a ball about on the lawn. Doesn't get much better than that.

Kendal is a busy little market town, full of arts events and culture, with its own castle and lots of interesting shops and cafes on the doorstep for guests staying at Black Swan Manor. Windermere is under an hour away, a magnet for keen walkers, cyclists and water sport enthusiasts. In the other direction, head to the Yorkshire Dales for more stunning scenery and fell climbs. Or the coast can be reached in an hour for beaches such as Morecombe and Millom.
