Blackton Grange is a wedding venue fully licensed to host intimate weddings from 2024. A recent restoration project has created a new Celebration Barn, a fabulous light-filled space where you can create your very own special day, with space for both the ceremony and celebration wedding feat. Choose a 2 or 3 night wedding package with full access to the 11 acre estate including the 8 bedroom luxury farmhouse providing accommodation for 18 of your wedding group, grounds, gardens and the Celebration Barn.
Located in the heart of the North Pennines between Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle, this wonderful venue also offers fantastic moorland views, reservoirs and great big dark skies for stargazing. There are many fabulous opportunities for photos for the wedding album, both inside and out: photos on the balcony, in the pretty courtyard and outside the bi-fold doors of the events barn.
On arrival guests won’t fail to be impressed by the facilities on offer for those staying on site. The kitchen diner is a fabulous space to prepare a night before celebratory meal or brunch on the morning of the ceremony, a thoroughly sociable space with seats for everyone. The sitting room and cocktail bar separated by a 2 way wood burner are just what’s needed for relaxation time. Catch up with relatives in the lounge or mix a cocktail and shoot some pool in the games room. Wake up on the special day, enjoy breakfast and get ready in your own luxury bedroom. Literally a few steps across the courtyard take the wedding party to the Celebration Barn for the wedding.
On Sunday morning shake away fuzzy heads with a bracing walk around the estate and direct access onto the Pennine Way. Or for the less energetic arrange a group trip to the Wensleydale Creamery, looking out for Wallace and Gromit along the way. The Rose and Crown at Romaldskirk is a 5 minute drive for a drink or Sunday roast before heading home.
