The Mansion House at Blaithwaite sleeping 40 is just the ticket for a friends and multi generation family weekend away or holiday in stunning Cumbrian countryside close to the Lake District and Solway Coast.

This grand holiday house near Wigton is filled with Georgian features including stained glass, high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and period fireplaces and offers a really comfortable and sociable place to stay. Outside the magic continues with an infinity terrace overlooking private gardens, a lake and Mary Jane summer house. Adventure awaits with 80 acres of woodland and a historical arboretum and wetlands to be discovered as well as fun extras like crazy golf and children's play areas. The recent addition of a hot tub brings even more luxury to the table, great for relaxing together with loved ones over a favourite tipple.

Self catering is easy at the Mansion House making use of the commercial kitchen and food prep worktops. Or it's possible to arrange for a private chef to cook for a special birthday or anniversary, served in the formal dining room or outside on the terrace. The drawing room is cosy for settling down in front of the TV or for a family game of cards after dinner. There are other reception rooms with seating, absolutely ideal for a mixed group and those wanting a bit of privacy.

The configuration of the 13 bedrooms is whatever works best for you. Doubles, triples, quads and a single provide enough choice for different ages and requirements. Accommodation is spacious, attractively styled with en suite showers. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower over.

The beauty of Blaithwaite is that you don't really need to go anywhere else. On-site team building activities including Woodland Warrior Laser Tag and orienteering can be tailored to suit everyone in the gang, irrespective of age or ability. Not far away are any number of family friendly attractions to visit, including the Lake District Wildlife Park and Alpacaly Ever After (Lakes Distillery), both in Bassenthwaite. Keen walkers and cyclists won't be short of trails in the Lakes or on the coastal path either. Silloth is recommended for a trip to the seaside.
