A dream house and cottage with glorious sea views, set in a peaceful and secluded location in 3 acres of sheltered, south-facing gardens and surrounded by unspoilt countryside.

Blanches is ideal for nature lovers, bird-watchers, walkers (including the four-legged variety), gardeners and those who simply wish to get away from it all while staying in a well-equipped family home. A great spot for family get-togethers and special occasions.

Blanches House offers spacious accommodation for 9 adults with one additional pull out bed. There is a farmhouse kitchen, expansive living room and hallway, 5 bedrooms (one downstairs), 2 bathrooms and an additional WC. Outside there are lovely sitting out areas overlooking the valley and sea, several terraced lawns and lots of secret gardens to explore.

For large groups, we can accommodate a further 5 adults next door in Blanches Cottage, with one additional pull out bed. This is the original character cottage dating back to the 16th Century. The two properties are semi-detached but there is high degree of privacy between them suiting, for example, two families holidaying together or a family with grandparents looking for the option of peace and quiet next door.

Enjoy a Cornish cream tea on arrival, free WiFi, delicious natural spring water, fresh vegetables from our garden in season and complimentary access to the Fowey Hall Hotel Spa’s luxurious indoor heated pool.

Lying between Looe and Fowey, the spectacular National Trust coastline is a 10 minute walk from the garden down an exquisite, almost private valley. Lansallos Cove, an ideal swimming beach and perfect for children, is also within easy walking distance. The fishing village of Polperro and the vibrant port of Fowey are a short drive away.

Both houses have telephones for emergency use and for making local calls. There is free WiFi. The T-Mobile & Orange (EE) network has best coverage.

Disabled Facilities

The House has a downstairs bedroom that would suit someone with limited mobility. The bathroom is next door and all living areas are on the same level

Dog Friendly

Kitchen

Fully equipped kitchens in the House and Cottage with oven, hob, dishwasher and little extras like coffee and tea making facilities and an iPod player

Dining Room

The dining area in Blanches House can seat 14. There is also a dining area in Blanches Cottage that can seat six.

Sitting Room

There is a large sitting room in Blanches House and another in the Cottage. Both have sea views and double doors opening out onto the garden terrace.

TV and Music Facilities

TVs (freeview), DVD player, iPod stations in both kitchens and some bedrooms.

Games Room

There are lots of indoor and outdoor games in both houses, including croquet and boules.

Heating and Open Fires

Blanches is centrally heated but there is a large open fire in the cottage and 2 wood-burners in the house, one in the galleried hallway. Logs free!

Bedrooms

The House has 4 double/twin bedrooms and 1 downstairs single that would suit someone with limited mobility. Cottage has 2 doubles/twins and 1 single.

Linen

Linen and towels are provided with a weekly change. Please bring your own beach towels.

Bathrooms

The House has a downstairs bath & separate WC with shower room upstairs and Cottage has an upstairs bath/shower room; all with luxury organic products

Children's Facilities

We are fully kitted out for babies and small children with sterilisers, baby monitors, plays pens and a wide range of indoor and outdoor toys.

Outdoor

Set in 3 acres of terraced lawns and gardens. Outdoor furniture, barbecue and sitting area. Large trampoline and treehouse.

Swimming Pool

All guests in the houses have free access to the indoor heated swimming pool at the Fowey Hall Hotel spa as often as they would like.

Parking

There is ample parking on site.

The houses are non-smoking please.

Location

We are between Plymouth and St Austell in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We will provide full directions with the booking confirmation.

There are few local bus services as we are in a very rural location.
The nearest station is Liskeard.
We are a short drive from the vibrant sailing town of Fowey. The old fishing village of Polperro is in the other direction with Looe beyond.
There is a good Spa supermarket in Pelynt. Fowey, Lostwithiel and Looe have excellent fishmongers and delicatessens. Waitrose, Tesco and Asda deliver.
There is a wide range of good pubs and restaurants in Fowey and Polperro. For special occasions try Trewithen in Lostwithiel.
Plymouth and Newquay airports are served from London and other major cities.
