Bore Place offers flexible accommodation for up to 53 overnight guests. Situated only 15 minutes from the M25 and 40 minutes from London, yet totally secluded and with a real sense of being away from it all, it is the perfect spot for team training, away days and celebrations. The gardens and grounds can be used by visiting groups and are a particularly attractive feature.

The focus of the estate is Bore Place House, a Jacobean manor house with a spacious drawing room, featuring an open fire as well as three other meeting/reception rooms. The house has 13 bedrooms.

On-site there are a number of other meeting and breakout spaces, including our Large Barn which can seat up to 150 theatre style. We also have numerous outdoor options that can be adapted to suit your group.

Overnight accommodation is available in Bore Place House (12/13 bedrooms), the Old Stable (11 bedrooms).the Small Barn (2 bedrooms) and Cedar and Mulberry Cottages (both 2 bedrooms).

Bore Place House is next to an organic dairy farm and is owned by the Commonwork Trust, a charity that aims to explore how to live and work sustainably, through education and programmes to support young people. We are an eco-friendly site, utilising green energy for heating and water, including fuel harvested from the estate woodlands. We are committed to minimising waste and use ethical, green products in the house.

The accommodation has fully-equipped kitchens but we can offer full-board catering which is seasonal and organic wherever possible. We can cater for special dietary requirements so please get in touch to discuss.

We can also arrange activities for your group including cooking activities, guided walks, wood/willow craft, yoga and wildlife watching amongst other things.

There is a fully accessible toilet and shower on the ground floor of the Old Stable and Mulberry Cottage.

Include crockery, cutlery, full range of appliances as well as eco-friendly cleaning products. Bore Place House also features a traditional Aga.

There is plenty of seating in the properties for all group sizes.

Four of our properties feature log burners, or open fires, and all have comfortable cosy spaces for reading, relaxing or group entertainment.

TV and Music Facilities

All our properties have smart TVs.

Games Room

There is no games room. However we welcome you to use our gardens and open space as you wish. We also have a sustainable wooden play-area to use.

Heating and Open Fires

The House features an open fire in the sitting room. Other properties except Mulberry Cottage include cast iron log burners.

Bedrooms

13 bedrooms in Bore Place House, 11 in The Old Stable, 2 in The Small Barn, Mulberry and Cedar Cottages. Mix of double, singles, triples and quads.

Linen and towels are provided.

Bathrooms

The house has 5 bathrooms and 4 extra toilets. Old Stable has 3 shower rooms, 1 bathroom and 3 further toilets. The cottages all have 2 bathrooms.

Children's Facilities

The main house has private gardens with a large lawn perfect for garden games. Elsewhere there is a sustainable wooden play-area.

Outdoor

The main house benefits from stunning gardens which include a large ornamental feature pond, extensive walking route maps are provided.

Parking

We have ample car parking for 15+ cars. This is in an off-street car park.

Smoking

Our venue promotes well-being and smoking is not permitted inside any of our properties. There are designated areas for smoking if necessary.

Booking Information

Check-in time is 4pm, departure 10am.
Whilst the house itself and its gardens are totally private, you might encounter other people in the grounds.
There is a £500 damage deposit.

Location

Bore Place House is an organically managed 500-acre country estate, in the beautiful High Weald of Kent. Only an hour from London and 15 mins from the M25.

Sevenoaks and Edenbridge with their bustling high streets are 15-20 minutes drive away. We are also within easy reach of Hever Castle and Chartwell.
There is a village shop at Chiddingstone Causeway (5 min drive) and gift and food shops in Chiddingstone (10 min drive away).
The Greyhound at Charcott, The Little Brown Jug at Chiddingstone Causeway and The Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech are the nearest pubs to Bore Place, at a 5 minute drive or 45 minute walk.
Gatwick airport is approx a 45 minute drive away.
Penshurst station is the closest station but Sevenoaks and Tonbridge are also within easy reach.
