Bore Place offers flexible accommodation for up to 150 day guests and 60 overnight. Situated only 15 minutes from the M25 and 40 minutes from London, yet totally secluded and with a real sense of being away from it all, it is the perfect spot for team training, away days and celebrations. The gardens and grounds can be used by visiting groups and are a particularly attractive feature.
The focus of the estate is Bore Place House, a Jacobean manor house with a spacious drawing room, featuring an open fire as well as three other meeting/reception rooms. The house has 13 bedrooms.
On-site there are a number of other meeting and breakout spaces, including our Large Barn which can seat up to 150 theatre style, the Middle Yard with space for training events and activities, or The Loft, a smaller meeting room. We also have numerous outdoor options that can be adapted to suit your group.
Overnight accommodation is available in Bore Place House, The Old Stables which has a further 11 bedrooms and the Small Barn which has an additional 2.
Bore Place House is next to an organic dairy farm and is owned by The Commonwork Trust, a charity that aims to explore how to live and work sustainably, through education and programmes to support young people. We are an eco-friendly site, utilising green energy for heating and water, including fuel harvested from the estate woodlands. We are committed to minimising waste and use ethical, green products in the house.
The accommodation has fully-equipped kitchens but most visiting groups take advantage of our on-site chef who provides organic home-cooked food for your stay, much of which would be harvested from our market garden. We can cater for dietary requirements so please get in touch to discuss.
We can also arrange activities for your group including cooking activities, nighttime walks, fire building, bushcraft, woodcraft and wildlife watching among other things.
