Bryn Gwyn & Tegfryn are an adjoining pair of beautifully presented character holiday cottages enjoying spectacular sea views across Tremadog Bay to the Snowdonia Mountains beyond, awarded 5 stars by the Welsh Tourist Board.

The cottages were constructed around 1900 in the beautiful and unspoilt coastal village of Borth y Gest, North Wales. Borth y Gest is situated on the Llyn Peninsula and a stones throw from the Snowdonia National Park.

The immaculate cottages have been recently renovated and equipped to a very high standard, providing excellent accommodation for a total of 16 adults (plus 2 cots) across 8 bedrooms.

In each cottage, the spacious living accommodation comprises:

•large kitchen/ diner

•front lounge with flat-screen TV, DVD & wood burner

•rear sitting room with flat-screen TV, DVD & games console

•downstairs WC

Across the two cottages there are 8 bedrooms in total: four kings (two with en suite), two twins and two bunk rooms. All the bedrooms are at first floor level. There is also a family bathroom upstairs in each cottage.

Outside, a balcony and front garden provide a glorious coastal vista across Tremadog Bay to the Snowdonia Mountains beyond. All the rooms to the front of the houses benefit from these unobstructed views.

This is an ideal base for those seeking a relaxing beach holiday or one full of outdoor activities.

Idyllic sandy beaches are within a short walking distance along the beautiful coastal path which leads directly from Borth y Gest.

A short walk to the east takes you to the popular harbour town of Porthmadog with a wide range of shops, cafes and pubs.

Parc y Borth nature reserve is directly to the rear of Bryn Gwyn & Tegfryn. It is a deciduous woodland dominated by ancient Welsh oaks. An extensive network of paths lead through the wood to the top of a crag with magnificent views of the Glaslyn and Dwyryd estuaries.

Please note that Bryn Gwyn & Tegfryn cannot to be used for parties. The houses are in a peaceful village location with neighbours on either side.

Facilities

Dog Friendly

Well behaved dogs are welcome although we ask that they are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. Additional cleaning charge of £30 per dog.

Accessibility

Access to Bryn Gwyn and Tegfryn is via a number of steep steps. The cottages are therefore not recommended for guests with limited mobility.

WiFi

Free Wi-Fi internet access provided. Land line provided for incoming calls only.

Kitchen

New kitchens with all mod cons. Designed with sociability as well as function in mind.

Dining Room

Part of the open plan kitchens with comfortable seating for 8 in each cottage. Patio doors open onto the front garden. Stunning sea views.

Sitting Room

2 sitting rooms in each cottage. The front lounges have a woodburner and fantastic sea views. The rear lounges have a games console.

TV and Music Facilities

Internet Wi-Fi throughout. TV and DVD players in both sitting rooms. Games console in rear sitting rooms. iPod docking stations in the kitchens.

Games Room

The rear sitting rooms have a games console, books, DVDs, board games, jigsaws and toys.

Heating and Open Fires

New gas central heating throughout. Guest controllable. Woodburners in the front sitting rooms.

Eight bedrooms in total. 4 kings with sea views (2 with en suites), 2 twins and 2 bunkrooms.

Linen

Linen, bath towels, hand towels, bathmats and tea towels are provided.

2 en suites, 2 family bathrooms and 2 ground floor WCs.

Travel cots, high chairs & stair gates are available by request. Games console, board games, toys, books and DVDs provided in the rear sitting rooms.

Benches & picnic benches in the front gardens. Bistro chairs located on the balcony. Back yard area to store bikes, hang washing.

Swimming Pool

Nearest pool in Porthmadog 1 mile away. Haven Park fun pools at Pwllheli accessible with day passes during the season.

Parking

On-street parking on Borth Rd 20m from the property boundary. There are no parking restriction on Borth Road. It is a quiet and safe road.

Not permitted.

Changeover Mon or Fri. Weekend (Fri to Mon) and midweek breaks (Mon to Fri) avail throughout year.
30% deposit, balance payable 4 weeks before arrival. Fully refundable damage deposit of £150 payable with the balance, returned within 2 weeks of departure. Additional cleaning charge of £30 per dog.
