This handsome four-bedroom house in Church Knowle sleeps 8 and has all the character you'd hope for from an old Dorset home, with generous rooms, traditional features and enough space for everyone to spread out. The magnificent inglenook fireplace gives the main sitting room a wonderfully welcoming feel. There's a second lounge with a wood burner, so nobody has to agree on the evening's entertainment, plus a bright conservatory overlooking the garden. The separate dining room seats eight, while the well-equipped kitchen has a range cooker, Nespresso machine and plenty of room to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a Sunday roast. The four bedrooms comprise two doubles and two twins, divided between the ground and first floors. Two downstairs bedrooms, including a double with an en suite, are particularly useful for mixed-age family groups. Three ground-floor bathrooms help make mornings straightforward. Outside, the secure garden is a real asset. Children can enjoy the lawn while adults settle into the swing seat or gather around the barbecue on the spacious paved terrace. Up to two dogs are welcome, and there's plenty of countryside to explore together. The final approach is along an uneven, unmade drive, with steps between the terrace and lawn. Church Knowle is a lovely village in the Isle of Purbeck, with the New Inn around a mile away. Corfe Castle is just over two miles from the house, while Kimmeridge Bay offers rock pooling, coastal walks and fascinating geology. Swanage's sandy beach, the Purbeck Hills and the wider Jurassic Coast are all within easy reach. After a day of exploring, there's something particularly satisfying about returning to Bucknowle Lodge, lighting the fire, and settling in for an evening with everyone together. ## Facilities - **Dog Friendly:** Up to two dogs; £35 per dog.
