Burwell House has a number of different size rooms downstairs, one of which can be made into a bedroom for guests that may not find it easy to access the upstairs bedrooms. These rooms are ideal for meetings, rehearsal rooms and other activity space. The downstairs also has its own hygiene suite.
There are also a number of satellite buildings, including a craft studio and carpeted multi purpose room. The house is Wi-Fi enabled, and TV and DVD facilities are provided.
Upstairs the 11 bedrooms provide 60 beds in total, ranging from small 2 – 3 bedded rooms to larger dormitory rooms, with bunk beds. If groups do not wish to use any upper bunks there are 37 single beds abd lower bunks in total. All rooms have toilet facilities nearby.
3 acres of landscaped gardens surround the property, containing much of interest, with a large orchard, a meadow area, a wildlife pond and many seating areas. there are various sculptures dotted around the garden which add to the ambience of the place.
Self-catering groups have access to our professionally equipped kitchen facilities, with large ovens, hobs and and hot cupboards. There is plenty of fridge, freezer and food preparation space. There are a number of food outlets in Burwell village itself.
Located 10 miles to the North East of Cambridge, Burwell House is easily accessible, via the A14 and A11, from many parts of the Country, and there is plenty of secure parking on site. We are within a 20 minute drive of Newmarket and Ely railway stations, and are directly on a bus route from Cambridge.
The village of Burwell itself has a number of churches, two small supermarkets, chemist, pubs and gift shops, as well as a number of country walks. There are also a number of nearby visitor attractions, such as Anglesey abbey, Wicken Fen and Cambridge itself.
