## About The Property

Cairngorms Activities offer great value, comfortable 31-bed accommodation for schools, colleges, universities and other youth groups. Our Glenbeg Bunkhouse and Bothy are located side-by-side in a secluded and picturesque spot at the top of the Glenbeg Estate, just a couple of miles off the A95 Grantown–Aviemore road. Peace and quiet and seclusion are guaranteed, along with the fantastic views, yet it is just a 5 minute drive into nearby Grantown-on-Spey.

The accommodation makes an ideal base for groups that are just seeking accommodation for a field trip or other type of educational residential, and as part of the award-winning and TripAdvisor 5-star rated Cairngorms Activities activity centre. Cairngorms Activities is AALA licensed, and Learning Outside the Classroom and Adventuremark accredited, and offers a choice of fantastic activities.

Cairngorms Activities’ Bunkhouse is a light, bright and airy converted farmhouse that sleeps up to 25 people over three rooms, two bunk rooms of 11 and 12 beds each, and a 2-bed room that is usually used as a teacher/leader room. Downstairs is a large open-plan kitchen and dining/common room area, along with bathroom facilities on a minimum of a 1:5 basis. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the bathrooms are clean, bright and well-lit.

Our Bothy, just across a small yard from the Bunkhouse, is perfect to use in combination with the Bunkhouse to accommodate larger groups, particularly when there is a requirement for separate sleeping areas for boys and girls, and male and female teachers/group leaders.

A converted steading, it sleeps up to 6 in a single bunk room, with a seperate dining and kitchen area. The bathroom is a disabled-access wet room, accessed via the bunkroom.

For larger groups, we can erect additional bell tents in the gardens. This allows us to cater for larger groups, although this is normally reserved for fully catered resitential events where we use additional resources to ensure smooth running. Please contact us to discuss if this is of interest.

## Facilities

- **Dog Friendly:** No pets accepted as properties sit amongst fields that often contain sheep.
- **Accessibility:** Bunkhouse not best suited as all bedrooms are upstairs. The Bothy is a better option as is a single floor property and has a disabled-access wet-room.
- **WiFi:** No landline or WiFi. Mobile reception seems at least fair on all networks.
- **Kitchen:** Glenbeg Bunkhouse has a large well equipped kitchen. The Bothy has a smaller but similarly well-equipped facility.
- **Dining Room:** Glenbeg Bunkhouse has a large dining/common room area, with seating at four large communal tables. The Bothy has a smaller kitchen/dining area.
- **Sitting Room:** Neither property has sitting room, but both have common room area utilising the seats and tables of the dining area, and books, magazines and games.
- **Games Room:** No, but a range of books, magazines and boardgames are provided.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Both properties are centrally heated. There is a wood burner in the kitchen/diner of the Bothy. Outside is a firepit.
- **Bedrooms:** The Bunkhouse has bunk rooms of 2, 11 and 12 beds. The Bothy has a single room of 6 beds. A guest bed is also available to increase capacity to seven.
- **Linen:** Pillow, pillow case and fitted mattress protector are provided as standard. There is an additional one-off charge of £6 per person for full bedding.
- **Bathrooms:** Bunkhouse has male and female bathrooms, each with 2 sinks, showers and toilets, plus additional private bathroom. Bothy has disabled access wet-room.
- **Children's Facilities:** A cot and high chair are available on request.
- **Outdoor:** Both properties sit in secluded location 2 miles from the A95 up a private estate road. Peace and quiet are the order of the day, as are great views!
- **Parking:** Private off-road parking for up to a dozen vehicles.
- **Smoking:** No smoking inside, but smokers corner outside.
