Callow Top is located on the outskirts of the market town of Ashbourne, just on the edge of the Peak District. Our family have lived here since 1976 and have gradually converted some of the barns and farm buildings into holiday accommodation. Surrounded by open green fields, yet within walking distance of Ashbourne town, we're perfectly located for exploring all that the Peak District National Park has to offer.

Ashbourne and Dovedale Cottages are semi-detached and converted from the barn belonging to the original farmhouse. They overlook the 'village green' in the centre of the park. Both are oak beamed with cosy living rooms and fully fitted kitchens.

Hartington Apartment is above the Callow Inn, again overlooking the 'village green'. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room and two bedrooms.

Our self catering accommodation is open throughout the year.

Between Easter and November, when the holiday park facilities are open, self catering guests have full use of the park facilities; children's play area, cycle hire, shop, Callow Inn and Restaurant and Arnold's Cafe Bar. (The Callow Inn and Arnold's Cafe Bar opening hours depend on the time of season. They may not be open during your stay. Please check before booking).

During the winter months (November to Easter) the holiday park facilities are closed so you can enjoy a peaceful break away from it all. Our coarse fishing lake is still open so you can while away an afternoon sitting by the water.

Facilities

All kitchens have hobs and oven/grill, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. The apartment also has a dishwasher and washing machine.
All accommodation has an open plan kitchen/dining area with tables seating the same number of guests as there are bed spaces.

All accommodation has a TV in the living area with Freeview and a DVD player + radio. The master bedroom in the apartment also has a TV.
Sorry there is no WiFi at any of the properties. There's a payphone on site. Mobile reception can be patchy inside but is better outside.
There is an outdoor table tennis table on the 'village green' area.
All properties are centrally heated. Ashbourne and Dovedale Cottages also have a wood burner effect electric stove.
Ashbourne: 1 double with additional single + 1 bunk bed. Dovedale: 1 double, 1 single. Hartington: 1 double, 1 twin.
All bed linen and tea towels are provided but you'll need to bring your own towels.
Ashbourne and Dovedale have a family bathroom (no shower). Hartington has a family bathroom with over bath shower.
We have no specific facilities for disabled guests. None of the bedrooms are on the ground floor.
Cots, high chairs and stair gates can be provided on request. We also have a play area (available Easter - end October).
Ashbourne and Dovedale have an enclosed yard with garden furniture.
Outdoor heated swimming pool and paddling pool are open May - end of September. Shared with other holiday park guests.
Parking for 2 cars adjacent to both cottages. Apartment parking is 50m away.
Smoking is not permitted inside any of the accommodation.
Sorry pets are not accepted in any of our accommodation.

Location

On the outskirts of Ashbourne. Our long drive runs from the main A515 Ashbourne to Buxton Road. 20 minutes drive from Alton Towers. Within 30 mins drive of Matlock, Buxton, Bakewell and Derby.
Ashbourne is about 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk away. You can walk into town along the Tissington Trail.
We have a shop on site (open Easter - end of October). Sainsburys, Waitrose, Co-op, Aldi and M&S Food can all be found in Ashbourne a 5 minute drive away.
We have a pub/restaurant on site (open Easter to end Oct weekends only). Okeover Arms @ Mapleton 20 mins walk. Bowling Green @ Ashbourne 20 mins walk. The Old Dog @ Thorpe 35 mins walk.

Booking Information

Prices from £340 - £535 per accommodation unit. Short breaks are available 3 nights Fri - Mon or 4 nights Mon - Fri except between 14th July - 30th August and over Christmas/New Year. Changeover day is Friday but Mondays can be accommodated outside Peak Season.
