Carlane Court enjoys a brilliant South Devon location, and the 3 cottages offer comfortable accommodation to return to after a day out exploring pretty seaside towns. These holiday cottages near Slapton are renovated dairy farm buildings and the owners have thoughtfully retained attractive vaulted ceilings and exposed beams while adding modern features for comfort and convenience.
Slapton is a fantastic holiday destination for extended 3 generation families or friends meeting up for an important birthday. Close to Slapton Sands part of Start Bay along the South West Coastal Path, there really is no need to venture further afield for a wonderful fun day at the beach paddling in the safe shallow waters armed with buckets and spades.
The kitchens are fully equipped and include a dishwasher so meal prep for everyone is a breeze. Enjoy eating together inside or outside in the enclosed gardens with barbecue areas and then relax on soft cushiony sofas in the lounges afterwards. Upper Carlane also has a sun lounge, a great alternative especially for a mixed age group where space is all important. The front courtyard is a lovely communal spot for an early coffee, listening to the birds and soaking up some sun, with occasional benches next to mature shrubs and trees. Lower Carlane is dog friendly.
Bedrooms are a combination of super kings, doubles, twins and bunks, all with subtle colour combinations and stylish design. The bedrooms are all ground floor, suitable for anyone less mobile. Each of the 3 cottages has a family bathroom with an additional shower room in Upper Carlane.
The properties have a prime position between Salcombe and Dartmouth, both perfect for messing about in the water and trying out a new sport such as paddle boarding or kayaking. Slapton Ley Nature Reserve is literally on the doorstep of Carlane Court and 2 pubs with good food are nearby.
