Casa Almelara is a historic rural house in the beautiful Granada province, dating from the time of the Moors and recently restored with love and your comfort in mind.

With a heated pool, Hammam, fantastic views and 9 bedrooms it is a great hideaway for families and friends to get together and particularly suited for Art Retreats with its spectacular views and stunning location.

Our area offers a whole range of outdoors activities too, popular amongst lovers of nature, artists and walkers as we are minutes from the Sierra Nevada National Park.

Enjoy the cultural experience of our village, car-free timeless Atalbeitar, one of the 7 white, moorish villages in our valley. (see Fiestas in our website).

Casa Almelara has been restored using traditional materials in original ways and chestnut beams, bedrock corners and unique touches give it a rustic charm.

It has 2 Smart TVs with Netflix and WIFI so you can work anywhere, if needed!

The pool is heated excepting the hotter months and always covered. The purification system is saline, your skin and eyes will be kindly treated here. It has also a hydro-massage and swimming against the current system so that you can exercise. It's big dressing room has a large walk in shower, a beautiful steam room and tiled benches to cool down.

The interior patio is shady and plant-filled for escaping the midday sun, and has a barbecue. The 3 large terraces have stunning views and garden furniture, the main one is child safe.

Horse riding places for novices and experienced riders offer marvellous routes into the National Park.

Or head out on foot for unforgettable walks (maps in house).

Activities including flamenco, yoga classes and specialised walks are available locally.

Explore the variety of restaurants and bars, where the tradition is to enjoy a free tapa with every drink, some offer live music too (please ask us).

Visit Granada for the Alhambra Palace and San Miguel Baths.

Salobrena for the nearest beach.

Pitres Camping or Mecina Hotel (2 km) for outdoor pools and garden restaurants.

Or wild swim in the river & mountain streams.

No hot tub. There is a beautiful Hammam (steam room) with Iranian tiles. And a shower area with benches where you can cool down, all next to the pool.

Swimming pool semi indoors, heated expect in the hotter months. Sand and salt purifying system. Hydro massage and swimming against current.

Dining Room

There are two indoor dining rooms in the house and 2 outdoor dining areas with views. See photos.

Lounge has comfy seating, a wood burner and a Smart TV. There are 3 indoor living rooms. See photos.

Kitchen

Equipped: Dishwasher, gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer. Washing machine & drier. Cooking essentials, condiments, teas, coffee.

TV and Music Facilities

There are two Smart TVs in 2 living rooms with Netflix etc, and a DVD player.

Heating and Open Fires

There are wall radiators in every room and a wood burner in the lounge. Fire pit outside.

9 bedrooms include 5 twins (these can be placed together, see photos), 3 doubles and 1 queen. Plus 1 double & 1 single sofa beds. Hair drier provided.

Toys. Car free village ideal for the kids to run around. The main terrace is baby and toddler safe with gates. High chair and 2 cots available.

Cars are left at the entrance to this car-free village. You can unload 15 metres away from Casa Almelara.

No smoking please.

Booking Information

Sleeps 18 but can be hired out for 4-6 guests in the low season. Cost includes a £300 cleaning fee. Dogs allowed by prior arrangement.

You will be met at the house; please let us know your time of arrival so we can show you around and answer any questions. Self check in with lock box available for late arrivals.
