This large detached Victorian house is wonderfully located in the hamlet of Monsal Head, just three miles from Bakewell right in the heart of The Peak District National Park. Set in a commanding position overlooking the spectacular Monsal Dale, the property offers panoramic views and is ideal for large families or groups of friends to enjoy one of the prettiest parts of Derbyshire.
Beautifully appointed throughout to provide very spacious accommodation for up to 22 people, there are nine bedrooms, (seven of which have an en suite bathroom), spread over two floors, so there is plenty of flexibility over the sleeping arrangements. A well-equipped kitchen boasts an AGA range cooker so the budding chefs in your party can whip up a fabulous meal. A dining room seating twenty two, a very spacious sitting room with a woodburning stove and a snug with an open fire complete the accommodation, so you can be assured of plenty of room to relax and spend that all important time together.
Outside there is a beautifully manicured walled garden with a patio area plus barbecue and seating for that al fresco dining experience. Also, to the rear, there is a large paddock where children (and adults) can let off steam, so no matter how much energy they have, they can wear themselves out in safety.
This magnificent Monsal Head house is a superb base for discovering the stunning countryside that is all around. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy a wide variety of footpaths and trails, including the Monsal Trail which crosses the Headstone Viaduct, part of the old Midland Railway, as well as all of the superb walking areas of the Peak District. Just three miles away is the market town of Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell Pudding, or take a short drive to the spa town of Buxton with its Opera House. Alternatively, spend a day at the spectacular Chatsworth House or visiting nearby Haddon Hall.
Surrounded by countryside and with spectacular views all around, there is something for everybody to enjoy.
