Cefn Du Holiday Cottages near Cardigan is an idyllic spot for a proper break away exploring this gorgeous part of Pembrokeshire on foot, bike or even on horseback. The owners have thought of everything to accommodate your 4 legged friends with stabling, grass turnout and a menage, as well as outdoor day kennels for dogs who need to be looked after if you can't take them with you. Use the opportunity to explore the Preseli mountain trails including Gors Fawr, Mynachlog-Ddu, Carn Menyn and across to Foel Cwmcerwyn.
The 3 cottages all have handy porches for muddy wellies, wet coats and to clean off the dogs after a walk. The largest cottage is Swallows Barn, a welcoming space recently transformed from a stone barn into a great family holiday house. A well equipped kitchen, dining room and comfy lounge with wood stove make this a great choice for extended family or couples. The other 2 cottages sleep 2 guests each, fully self contained and somewhere where grandparents might want to set up camp for a bit of peace. The 3 cottages have enclosed secure gardens with outdoor seating and views of ponds, farmland and the stables, the perfect place to relax while keeping an eye out for the farm's Shetland ponies and cute foals.

Cefn Du is a great base for family holidays in Pembrokeshire, with attractions on the doorstep including Folly Farm, Oakwood and Heatherton for a fun day out. Narberth has become know as a shoppers' heaven, with multi-coloured Edwardian and Georgian buildings, independent shops and a trendy cafe culture. Cardigan is also worth a visit, a bustling market town with an arty festival vibe. Visit Cardigan Bay and look out for the pods of bottlenose dolphins, with numbers estimated at 300 in these beautiful Welsh waters. Newport is a fabulous beach for a day out offering rock pools at low tide and safe bathing for kids on Traeth Sands close by, as well as lots of other stunning coves nearby. The Welsh Coastal Path can be accessed from here too.
