Or smaller groups can take just a few rooms in either. The balconies offer views across the valley to Mont Blanc, perfect for a cold beer after a full day skiing or walking the slopes and a chance to unwind before supper. Chalets Flocon and Edelweiss have indoor hot tubs and saunas to soothe tired muscles. After dinner relax in the comfortable lounges while the children head to the smaller games rooms for TV, books and games. 8 bedrooms in each chalet are set up as twins, all with en suite bathrooms, a robe for leisure activities and complimentary toiletries. Just 200m from the ski lifts and with slopes for all abilities, easy access to Les Arcs and La Plagne provides the very best of ski runs in this hugely prestigious Paradiski ski area. During the ski season, the chalets are let on a catered basis. A professional chef provides delicious breakfasts, afternoon teas and dinners with fine cuisine and great wines. On a couple of evenings, meals are not catered so you have the opportunity to explore local restaurants and sample traditional favourites including fondue Savoyarde and raclette. Relax, enjoy the skiing, and let your hosts take care of the rest, including arranging ski hire and passes, lessons and childcare. Chalet Flocon (but not Chalet Edelweiss) is also available in the Spring, Summer and Autumn months of May - October on a self catering basis, ideal for friends and family groups, and for hiking and cycling in this stunning region of the French Alps. La Plagne and Les Arcs together make up the famous Paradiski area, spanning 425km of piste skiing and linked by the world famous Vanoise Express lift between Les Coches and Plan Peisey. Set between Montchavin at 1250m and the Glacier De La Chiaupe at a whopping 3417m, La Plagne has a huge selection of high altitude skiing to choose from. Beginners can test their turns on the “debutants” area in Les Coches whilst intermediates have a wealth of smooth blue runs to choose from. As you progress there is a good selection of challenging red runs spread across the domain, and some excellent blacks in the Le Fornelet and glacier areas. Famous in the Paradiski area, Les Arcs has over 70% of its skiing above 2000m. It’s home to the famous Aiguille Rouge glacier. Les Arcs offers an excellent variety of runs and is particularly good for intermediates with many wide open red runs. It also boasts a 7km run from the top of the Glacier at 3226m to Villaroger at 1200m. There are modern fast lifts from each of the four main areas and the whole area is very easy to navigate around. The Vanoise Express, the largest cable car in the world, provides a high-speed link between Les Arcs and La Plagne. If you enjoy or want to try Nordic Skiing there is a fantastic area in Rosuel, accessible by free shuttle from outside the Vanoise Express cable lift. The area is stunning and the skiing tracks varied. You can try both types of Nordic skiing, the classic style (following 2 tracks) or the skating type. This area is also a great option to go for a walk; a dog, reindeer or horse sled ride.
