## About The Property

At Charterhouse Outdoor Centre we have been working with schools and various other groups since the 1960s, providing unforgettable residential trips.

As well as school groups, we have lots of experience of working with church groups, running school revision weekends and hosting scouts, sporting and youth clubs.

We can tailor an activity programme for your group. Caving is a must on the Mendips and we can also offer a wide range of other activities including climbing, gorge walking, team building and archery. If you would prefer, you can of course do your own thing.

We maintain the highest standards of health and safety and hold an AALS licence. Our kit and equipment are regularly inspected and our instructors hold a number of recognised qualifications, and are highly experienced in working with young people. As a service we work with over 12,000 young people a year aged between 7 and 18 years.

The centre has a large dining room which can also be used as a classroom, with its’ own projector. There is also a visitors’ lounge which can be used as a classroom or just somewhere to relax. We also have a large separate classroom that can be used by groups, again with a projector.

Groups are generally catered for by the centre with delicious child friendly food.

There are 12 dorm rooms with bunk beds. The accommodation is split over 2 floors (separated by 5 steps) with 6 of the rooms having en suites.

A boot room for outdoor kit means it’s easier to keep your rooms clean, plus you have somewhere to hang wet clothes.

Charterhouse is also proud to have one of the biggest telescopes in the South West in its observatory. Advanced booking is needed.
